I guess Everton coming down will provide an attractive fixture for us.

I don't get the constant self loathing some RFC fans indulge in.

Arbroath currently 1-0 up at half time away to closest rivals Kilmarnock in the Scottish Championship.

A win would put them 2 points clear with a game to play and a +4 advantage in goal difference.

Would be an incredible story to see them in the SPL.

Why? They didn’t move home the last time they were in the top division in Scotland (mid 1970s). Gayfield holds 6600 and their avg. attendance this season is only around 2100.

Yeah, I changed it. Didn't realise the SPL relaxed their ground requirements down from 10,000 all seaters in 2014. That's why Gretna played at Motherwell.

It's now just SFA Bronze certification which means minimum 6,000 capacity with 500 seats. As you point out Gayfield holds 6,600 with 800 seats.

A bit moot at present anyhow, because Kilmarnock scored twice late on and clinched the title.

Not blaming you DD but once again we have an example of football being invented when the Premier League was invented and all things prior to then being regarded as irrelevant.

I can think of Oxford and Luton but nobody else at the moment that has fallen the same distance and nowadays if a club is managed reasonably (a big "f" perhaps) that gets to the Premier League really shouldn't fall that far what with the massive TV Revenue and parachute payments.

Maybe Derby will spiral further down and be the first ex-champions of the top level to disappear into non-league.

116 years in the leagues

Despite being dead and buried pre-christmas, looked like they had clawed out of the mire…only to fall back into it again.

Lots of (biggish) ex-league teams scrapping it out again in the Conference next season.

Yeah the National league is starting to look like the 4th division from the late 80s/early 90s.

Was talking to my Mrs uncle yesterday (he is FGR 1st team fitness coach) and he has been involved since he retired from playing in that level for 10 years. He said it is basically fully professional apart from maidenhead, King's lynn, Wealdstone and a few others. Some teams pay better then league 2. And he said even some teams in the division below like dorking or Maidstone have league wages and setups and facilities.

Thats why so many teams go up twice to league 1 or at least in a few years such as FGR or Sutton this year.

Notts County were in the the 1st Division in 1991-92.

Carlisle also dropped out of the league having playing 1st tier football but they only had 1 season in the 1st Division in the early 70s and came straight back up after 1 season in the Conference.

Blimey, Burnley having a really good go. Must admit I’d love it if Everton confounded everyone and beat Liverpool in the later game.

Massive game for Leeds tomorrow at Palace.

If they lose, they could well be in trouble. Next 3 games:

Man City H
Arsenal a
Chelsea H

Also just seen that 50% of Burnley's last 4 games are against Aston Villa.

In the words of Kevin Keegan

I would love it, ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, if Everton go down
