LUX Supporting Newcastle, but I am delighted for Rashford, love the guy.

The commentator had just said that Rashford hadn't done much when he scored his very good header.
A cracking Wing-like strike for the second.

Could this be the latest reincarnation of the player?
I doubt if he would even have started if Yamal had been fit.

Howe not brave enough to start his expensive new striker when their main attacks, with some success, were from the wingers who had no focal point for crosses.
They probably wouldn't have got anything out of the game anyway and maybe he was saving players for their big game on Sunday away at Bournemouth  .

BTW, can't Howe see that Trippier is well past his sell-by date?

Your #lads seem to be making a habit of spunking 2-goal leads and then winning in extra time.

Didn't watch the game, but saw VVD got a 92nd-minute winner

Yes, a cracking game to watch and Liverpool made a lot of chances-class of course is permanent.

watched most of the Newcastle-Barcelona game last night. Rashford's 2nd was an absolute belter.

Big issue I find when watching them is they always seem to want an extra touch which either slows their attacks down or screws the developing chance up completely. Think there’s only so far you can go needing late winners all the time but suspect they may well give someone a right belting before long.

At the very front though there are signs that is not the case with Wirtz, Ekitike and Isak ,with Isak happy to take a shot on immediately and he really does have quick feet doesn't he?

Harry Kane has 15 goals in eight games this season. And Bayern are in Pafos tonight.

UEFA & the Super League are in talks to merge & create a new competition: The TV rights will NOT be sold to TV channels. It will be directly broadcasted to the fans through a new platform like Netflix, either for free or for very cheap. This competition would begin in 2027.

Maccabi Tel Aviv turn down their allocation of tickets for the Aston Villa game. A decision that denies their fans the opportunity to cement their reputation as a bunch of utter pcunts whilst also allowing them to play the victim so wins all round.

Everytime Chelsea play there will be a player i have never heard of. Tonight there is more than 1.

Squads have a size limits. How do they just keep having these new players?!

Looking at the line ups now for last night, i have Hato, Walsh, Guiu, Acheampong & Santos as all new players for me

Look forward to their weekend match where theyll have another player or 2 i have never heard of.

Must be very confusing being a Chelsea fan these days

On the topic of Cheslea players, I just learned how Badiashille's name is pronounced, and its nice to know the commentators havent bothered learning it and are just saying it exactly as it reads, just as us amateurs would!

'Ba-je-shie' is how he says it himself

(I have become quite obsessed with those PL videos for overseas audiences where they have to say their own names)

In the NFL, all commentators are given a sheet from each team which gives pronunciations for each of the players who have possibly difficult names.

I did some research on this before (I have a big interest in languages, accents etc while being too lazy to learn one properly) and Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese are quite different, with one being the former drop loads of non stressed vowels, whereas the latter pronounce every bit of the word. It means the Portuguese laugh at Brazilians for saying all words in full, and Brazilians wtf at Portuguese as they listen to them wondering where half the word went

Also, one tip to help guess where someone may be from - if you see one of the common Latino surnames and it ends in 'es' then they are typically Portuguese or Brazilian, if it ends in 'ez' then they are typically Hispanic

And i am still enjoying Gary Neville stopping pronouncing Mbuemo's name wrong after the player explained that it was wrong, but Neville has also ignored how it should be said and come up with his own new pronunciation instead
