Sevilla Vs Barca tonight. A win for the latter will put them level on points with 4 place

Winston Biscuit Christian Eriksen has his contract terminated at Inter. Serie A won't allow people to play if they have a defibrillator inside them.

He has been training with Odense for a while now apparently

Seems as good a time as any to post again this quite incredible video of Belgian Anthony Van Loo, who was diagnosed with a heart condition in 2008 (aged 20) but went on to play over 100 games in Belgium's top two divisions. He was fitted with an internal defribilator, which 'fires' in this video from 2009, just seconds after he collapses on the pitch.

No idea if Eriksen's diagnosis, or what he has been fitted with, is similar.

another last minute goal saves the day for PSG.

Good to see Ramos continuing his red card fun since moving countries

That was the first time he's ever been sent off outside of Real Madrid.

0 Red Cards in 225 Games with Sevilla & Spain.

Any player wishing to play in Italy or France must have had at least one vaccination by 6th January. This will impact not only transfers to clubs in Serie A and Ligue Un but those of any club who need to travel there for a European game.

We’ll find out who is and isn’t vaccinated (if this proves to be legal and enforceable)

Alvaro Morata could be about to join Barcelona. Which would make him only the third ever player to play for Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Considering the clubs he's played for a strike rate of 1 in 3 isn't particulalrly impressive.

Then again, he must be doing something right to be playing for them in the first place.

Yet another very late goal rescues it for PSG and Ramos is sent off again.

Is mad that he's never been sent off in 180 Spain caps, given his club record. For Real he averaged roughly two red cards every 50 games.

Fwiw Ramos is around a season and 50 games away from becoming the 36th player to make 1,000 senior appearances. He'd be there already but for suspensions.

recent results have made La Liga looking quite interesting again. Sevilla have been on a good run in 2nd place and with Real Madrid slipping up recently meaning they are 5 points behind them with a game in hand

Atletico going on an appalling run in 4th place and Barcelona turning their season around under Xavi so far means Barca are only 1 point off a Champions League place right now

Spain keeping possession so well and him not having to cover two positions with Marcelo half way up the pitch.

Barcelona squeeze past lower league opposition in the Copa Del Rey 2-1.

Whilst Real Madrid are currently drawing 1-1 and are in very real danger of being knocked out by minnows Alcoyano, for the second year in a row.

Watching the match and the decline of Marcelo and Hazard as footballers is really sad. They are only in their early 30s and look like a couple of retired players coming back for a testimonial.

Edit:

And Real score to make it 2-1, after a deflection, just as I hit submit on the post.

I think a case could be made for Hazard being the worst transfer of all time

Of the high profile variety it is definitely up there. Sebastian Veron to United sticks in my memory, can't remember him doing anything there.

Veron was poor at Utd after being so good at Lazio and being a British transfer record. but they did recoup half the money which is something. I remember he arrived with some fanfare as being this great midfielder who was about to show the English how it is really done.

Hazard is like an imposter since being at Real Madrid. £89M + £60M and he has scored 4 league goals in 2 1/2 years, has looked like he couldn't care less for much of that time and has been overweight (in Spain he was harshly nicknamed 'The Burger King' after, when being hammered by the press for being overweight, BK tweeted that he was not in training as he was enjoying their 2 for 1 offer)

Coutinho another who could compete for worst transfer due to very high fee, likely low money return on that, little return on the pitch, and Barca didn't stipulate in the loan deal that he couldn't play against them, and so he did, scoring 2 of the 8 goals in one of their worst humiliations
