Reading v Spurs

by shorey66 » 20 Aug 2012 18:03

Just phoned Reading FC Ticket Office to try and get a ticket for my 8 yr old nephew, only to be told their all sold out, I have been a Season Ticket holder since the Madjeski Stadium was built, surely that loyalty means something, very fustrated

It means absolutely nothing, unless you are a corporate fan then they'll be all over you. Afraid we're starting to see the same behaviour from the club as before when we were in the premiership, stuff the fans as we can sell your ticket anyway. Which is fine until you get relegated and then watch out !!

Surely if you cared enough about getting your nephew a ticket, you would have bought one weeks ago!

I'm a little bit mystified by that post to be honest. If you don't have a ticket how can it be sold. If you do not renew then yeah the ST seat will be sold. The club is a business and no one has retainer rights on loyalty or blind faith in getting tickets for any game. Yes it is frustrating for the OP and it is a shame for the youngster but we all know the tickets available will shift fast.

You could have bought his ticket nearly a month ago. Tickets went on sale to all Member Card holders on 23rd July.

I've been a STH for the best part of 20 years - does that mean my family and tag-alongs should be entitled to a ticket ahead of those who have earned loyalty points?

Any fans that haven't bought a season ticket have to understand and accept the points process that is in place, and ensure as soon as tickets go to general sale that they call the club and secure a seat straight away. There's little excuse for not doing so. Stoke is a prime example of general sale tickets being available up until the day before the game for the less glamorous games. You really have no excuse for not getting your nephew a ticket!

Exactly! The concept of 'sold out' seems to have alluded Shorey66.

I think this might be a windup.

It does mean something, it means you can sit in your ST seat, HTH

BTW I think you might have escaped some stick on this thread thanks to Bath hoops' frankly mental beef with corporate hospitality

I'm not going, so there'll be at least one spare seat if that makes you feel better?

Oh, you could pop into TSI's registered office and ask to look at the books and shareholders list.
