And where exactly are you going to head to pick up a black cab?

If memory serves me quickly upton park isn't exactly awash with them on a match day...

You misunderstand - it's a strong plan - genuinely interested to know if you saw many black cabs knocking around and where to head to try and grab one?

Last time we were there all I remember is queuing for Upton Park station, giving up, walking through some proper RANK estates, and eventually finding another tube, the name of which escapes me...

We did that same walk, found the end of the queue, said "fook that lets go find a cab and get to another line", walked back found a main road and had 4 of us looking out for a cab. It couldn't have been more than a 2min wonder once we got back on the main road (haven't a clue what road it was) - hailed a cab we asked if he could take us to the nearest/quickest tube not on the district/hammersmith line. £6.50ish/4 later we were dropped off outside a different lines station. Maybe we were just lucky, I don't know, but c'mon, it's London - there's 000's of the feckers about

Are people heading towards any of the "away" pubs near the ground, or is the general consensus that most people are going to find a pub in central london because west ham is an oxf*rd hole?

Farringdon's not a bad shout, but the trouble is I live in Mile End so I'm only a few stops from Upton Park, and don't really fancy going back into the centre. Basically, I'm being lazy and hoping that there's a few people heading down to some pubs near the ground for a few beers before kick off, cos I don't really fancy heading down to Upton Park and finding that the pubs are all a bit claret and blue.

I'll be heading to The Miller's Well on Barking Rd in East Ham. It's better to get off at East Ham tube station to get there.

Near the front.

Is the view any good from down there? Haven't been that low down before.

The first 3 rows are below pitch level, so no the view are shit.

they can also be quite a way to the side, about 20-30 seats from the corner flag.

Why take that line. Surely it's best to get in at Paddington.

West Ham have been advertising in the papers all week, and I think I saw something in the Metro.
