southbank1871 There is no chance of the club making any sort of apology for this debacle, they will again reference our historical poor support in 'similar' fixtures.

Ahem.
I, for one, would not have been able to convince my father to go if the travel had not been provided. Ergo, I probably wouldn't have gone either as I know very, very few Reading fans and it's a long way to go on your own.
So yes, anecdotally at least, the free travel did create extra demand.

bigmike for those of you moaning about the club selling out their allocation. Have you actually been away before? If so you have enough Loyalty points. In which case why didnt you get your tickets sooner? And if you didnt have enough Loyalty points you should have shown some support previous to the club getting to a quarter final at Citeh.
AWWWWW BOO HOOO

But over and above a level of demand that was always going to exceed the paltry 2800 tickets they requested. Not only do they not appear prepared to say sorry but they also appear to be trying to do their best to shift blame onto Man City! Why shouldn't they seek to sell tickets to their own fans (that part of the stadium is very popular with home support) if RFC weren't prepared to commit to more.
