So can the club confirm how many of the 2,836 took up the free travel option?

Do they think we're all fecking stupid? " The free travel offer meant more fans were interested" - LIES!!!!!!!!!!

Ahem.

I, for one, would not have been able to convince my father to go if the travel had not been provided. Ergo, I probably wouldn't have gone either as I know very, very few Reading fans and it's a long way to go on your own.

So yes, anecdotally at least, the free travel did create extra demand.

southbank1871 There is no chance of the club making any sort of apology for this debacle, they will again reference our historical poor support in 'similar' fixtures.

Of course all at the club were serving RFC fans 84 years ago the last time they had to deal with an away FA Cup quarter final.

Absolute cock up to take just 2800 tickets, massive shame they underestimated the interest in this fixture by a good 2-3000.

I love the wording of the first line regarding all our tickets are sold out in the AWAY end, may as well say ' you can always sit in the home end' cos as far as I'm aware we never had any tickets in the home end!

Doubt they can yet - you have to phone up to reserve a space so any one buying tickets overnight would still have to be able to phone up today.

Well done to the club for yet another ticketing disaster  Well done to Sir Madjeksi for offering free coach travel AFTER the allocation of tickets have been revealed. As I'm sure someone on here has already said, if the offer for free coach travel wasn't given, this whole mess wouldn't have happened!
I feel sorry for the people who were planning on going before the free travel announcement and now can't go :|
And another thing, wouldn't it have been better if JM offered free coach travel TO Wembley if we made it rather than to a quatre final? I am laughing at the club to be honest, this is only the 3rd time in our HISTORY we've made it to a quatre final and using that in 'previous fixtures, similar to this' only 1,500 fans went along. Yeah because it was only the 5th round you numpties.
I am beginning to lose faith in this club

But over and above a level of demand that was always going to exceed the paltry 2800 tickets they requested. Not only do they not appear prepared to say sorry but they also appear to be trying to do their best to shift blame onto Man City! Why shouldn't they seek to sell tickets to their own fans (that part of the stadium is very popular with home support) if RFC weren't prepared to commit to more.

for those of you moaning about the club selling out their allocation. Have you actually been away before? If so you have enough Loyalty points. In which case why didnt you get your tickets sooner? And if you didnt have enough Loyalty points you should have shown some support previous to the club getting to a quarter final at Citeh.

AWWWWW BOO HOOO

If the club ordered ay 5000 and didnt sell them out they would have lost money on these tickets as they have to pay City upfront for them.. Given that the games on telly and to be fair I dont think Reading have sold their away allocation out for quite a few years i think the club acted correctly

What a pathetic comment. You'd hope that fans would be sympathetic to those who couldn't get a ticket, partic if they have 1500+ points - but no, a group of puerile individuals have to take delight in taking the p!ss. YOU'RE not the real fans imo.

Well the prize for arrogance and stupidity must go jointly to you and Wycombe who seem to struggle to grasp even the most basic of concepts behind this whole cock up on the part of the club.

There was no need whatsoever for a shortage of tickets.

1599 points not loyal enough? Midnight not early enough?

These are immature whinging comments?

You are both pathetic.

I'm not taking sides. I was merely pointing out that "The free travel offer meant more fans were interested" - LIES!!!!!!!!!!" was an overzealous and incorrect statement.
