Barney Was bad service yesterday.

Bought a pint of bitter and half a cider...came to 5.80. Gave some bird a tenner, and she asked me out much change she should give me !!
I should have said £25, but she was clearly stressed out with queues waiting 15 minutes or so.

Was she short, young and dark haired, to the left of the disabled queue point ? Or were they all thick?

1st game of teh season is always bad. as they usually have a whole new set of staff starting their first day.
maybe a practice day of training where they get to see the tillsand work the machinery without the queues first is a good idea.

was great in the north stand though.

North Stand: Slow, rubbish service, and expensive & poor quality drinks. I ordered Guinness which when it arrived had clearly been poured at least 30 minutes previously - my friend was good enough not to complain too much. Had to insist twice that the server give me full pint measures of bitter. When I tasted the bitter it was horrible - strong chemical/detergent taste (pipe cleaning fluid?). Wonderful experience.

What fails to amaze me is the lack of equipment to actually pour the beer. There are plenty of multiple dispensers in the market where 8 pints can be poured at once. Even Essex CCC use these things. Speeds up service no end. The only thing I can think of is the desire to avoid customers getting all bevvied up.

As will Brighton if the pre-season reports are true - a local (to the opposition) brew or two in the away end for each match.

A drop of West Berks Good Old Boy would go down very nicely

Having popped down to Southampton last night they even have their own ale by the looks of it.
