Seperate Buses for Home and Away Fans!

by Oddesy2k » 06 Aug 2011 21:04

Today was appalling getting on the bus back to the station we encountered loads of Millwall fans cutting into the que and insulting the stewards (who did nothing BTW). Once we got onto the bus which was 90% Millwall we repeatedly got told we took it up the arse and constantly told us we where Cnuts etc. I was actually scared that I could get my head kicked in and there was a couple of elderly gentlemen in the back of the bus that where constantly being insulted. Now I know this will probably be a one off since Millwall fans are one of a kind to put it in the nicest way, but maybe there should be separate buses at the away end to take the fans to the station where the police were and did control the situation.
Just my opinion but was wondering what everyone thought and if anyone else has had an issue today or at any other game?

i appreciate the idea and they really were a bunch of idiots (we may have shared the same bus), but how do you know who is millwall and who is reading if they aren't wearing colours? it would reduce the problem but not solve it. i'd suggest writing to the football club to make an official complaint, although it's not their fault they should be aware of it, make a complaint to reading buses, and bring the supporters trust into it.

Can recall that in the not too distance past Thames Valleys finest have not allowed large numbers of away fans on to buses but have escorted them back to town on foot. Today there were not enough police especially after the match walking down to the park and ride buses. I was under the impression that clubs with history were given a much reduced ticket allocation does this not happen any more?

I'm surprised the police don't travel on the buses when reknowned teams' fans are using the buses.

I am sure that would incur extra manning and costs.

What price safety eh?

Just supposing it had all kicked off - are we just to accept that the club couldn't afford to pay for a few police officers to travel on a bus into town?

lol at putting the millwall fans on teh same buses, lol at not holding them in teh ground, lol at making reading fans walk through the millwall fans to get to the buses/car parks.

this mess needs sorting.
was it millwall or cardiff last year where they stopped everyone going down the hill for half an hour so they could get the away buses out.

its our ground ffs. when we go to away grounds we get held in while the home fans go home.
wtf is it the other way round for us?
one day there will be a serious incident, and ill be lauded as a seer of the future.

Totally agree BW. Wasn't it a few years back when one of the buses got completely trashed by visiting thugs?

Don't wear club colours. You can then avoid any abuse, go straight into town afterwards without being in 'football uniform', enabling you to go to pubs, restaurents, the cinema etc without being labled as a football fan. You will also save loads of money.
