No idea why it wasnt opened, bad day for it considering it was one of the larger attendances of the season. Was nice and easy getting out of that road though today which was a bonus though.

A friend of mine does the security at the Acre Road car park.

Apparently the insurance for the buildings and space doesn't allow it to be used for non-business purposes or something along those lines.

The lads who worked there were getting paid cash in hand and someone who works there got a bit jealous and grassed them all up to the managers. It's fair to say that this bloke is now at home recovering after running into a few people's clenched fists and some form of baton!

Apparently they're looking into opening it again but it has to done properly. The lads are gutted as for a busy game they got a tidy sum!

Cheers

Thanks RTID, I knew someone on here would know. Hope they get it sorted soon. Cannot imagine that Insurance for a few hours on a match day would cost that much and if the owners get a cut it will help them as they will be having to pay business rates on the place even though its empty. Cannot see why more firms with a spare bit of ground cannot open it up for a few hours blokes on the gate make a bit, fans save a bit and if there are several places with a few hundred spaces each it must help to ease the congestion after the game.
