Question for STAR: Cricket

by Memories Of India » 07 Nov 2006 22:35

No, come on, stay with me.....

I don't know if it still happens, but I can recall RFC playing the Supporters Club at cricket during past summers (usually at Scours Lane), and felt that we (HNA?) should challenge the club to a match.

Any ideas how to make something like that happen?

I'd be surprised if the club allowed their players to partake in such things, considering they could get injured.

There used to be a match between the Club (including players) and the Supporters Club every summer, but I cannot recall having seen anything about one in the last year or so.

What I'm interested in knowing is if there's interest from the club, perhaps tied in to some sort of charity thingie, because if so I reckon we could rustle up a team from within HNA (even if most of them are Shrimps).

As umpire?

Or have you found your bowling trousers?

As your opening pace bowler 8) - the only reason I couldn't play for HNA? last summer was because my back was knackered. All sorted now so bring it on.

Fair comment there MOI. Perhaps Glo and I could help with refreshments.

In the recent past, there was a RFC v's London Irish cricket match.

If injuries are a worry, then how about a fans v's players quiz and games night?

A pool contest with the winner taking on the best RFC pool player, best of 5.

The thing with the Royal Families Charity is if they do it, they'll probably charge about £60 a ticket.

If STAR get any involvement in this it will be open to STAR members only and all others will have to pay £10 on the day to sign up. There will also be a raffle with all money raised being handed to John Madejski.
