reading fc stewards are a joke they are the worst stewards around i have ever come across. the fans need some protection from them. they are driving fans away and making going to home games not enjoyable

Don't tell me, you were told to sit down and you, most probably, are one of the boys who sits in Y26?

Please furnish us with numbers of these fans who are turning away from the club due to stewarding.

I don't care much for stewards myself, but I'm buggered if I'm going to let them "drive me away" from watching and supporting my team. :|

yes i agree that forest stewards were not good. but i have been to so many grounds were the stewarding has been good i think reading dont believe on the give fans respect and you will get it back. a lot of the stewards seem to like a bit of a argument and a wrestling match

As long as a person is treated in a fair and even manner then there should be no issues. If persistant standing is allowed then fine, (Cardiff away), it is acceptable to stand at periods of actual (god forbid - excitement), but it seems there are those willing to antagonise on both sides.

As we all know there are moments of excitement, so if and it is a big if the standers/singers got their act together they could make certain events times of excitement, EG corners, Reading win a corner, stand and sing, when the corner is taken and play back to normal then sit down again.

Should the stewards decide that it is unacceptable to stand at a time of excitement then complain to the club in numbers.

I was referring to fans being banned unfairly for silly little offences such as standing up or swearing. I mean come off if rfc stewards want to start kicking fans out for swearing they will have to kick half the stadium out. I see the royal lady has not taken my constructive advice to politely shut up. There just no helping some folk these days.

Reading stewards are over the top and for some reason want to pick on Royals fans consistantly.

At Norwich almost the whole stand behind the goal of home fans stood all game, not one steward made them sit down.

At Reading if you stand up you could be kicked out and banned!

Funny though how they turn a blind eye to away fans who stand, i.e. Millwall who stood all game and not one of the brave Tangos/Stewards told them to sit down

Do you ever read the threads on this as your point is answered repeatedly? DId you come the to the stewarding forum to hear their version of what they can and cannot do?

It is similar at most grounds - did you notice at Everton they were sitting and yet in the away stand they did nothing to make Reading fans sit even though it was not all of us standing? The stewards have only one sanction for away fans and that is to evict them - they will never do that en masse as it gives them so many problems outside, whereas home fans want to come to the next game. On top of that Reading Borough Council seem to one of the more strict in the way they insist the no standing rule is applied giving RFC fewer options.
