That Friday Feeling
RoyalBlue I bet RBC aren't anywhere as near in the pocket of the FLA as they are with John Madejeski!

I suspect our Chairman has the potential for enormous influence within the local authority and that if the club wanted to be treated in a slightly different manner on this issue there would be ways to get RBC to listen a bit more to the club and a little less to the FLA!

With respect, absolute nonsense.

Please explain why for the benefit of stupid me!

Rich people not having any political/legal influence? Never heard of planning gain? i.e. legal bribery!! And that's just for starters.

And before the lawyers reach for their writs - I'm not suggesting our Chairman does anything untoward or unacceptable within our current political/legal framework!

SymonsO I woke up this morning not looking forward to the game particularily as I will have to sit in Y19.

I'm not a thug, chav or degenerate. I just want to sit in Y26 for the view and atmosphere.

And?...

So I had no idea any of these things mattered so much to you people!

Just got a ticket for the Cardiff game in Y26 so I will see what the fuss is about.

If they're so worried about the South East corner being a "flashpoint". Why don't they seat the away fans in the South West corner (not that I would like that) but why should the home support in an area of the most atmosphere be the one that suffers?

Think this has already been covered - the SE half of the South Stand is actually bigger than the SW half and as such is the part of the stand that is closer to the FL reuqirements of 10% of the ground.

Or something like that.

If we go up this season then the club's contempt for those in Y25/Y26 will only grow.

If reading do go up they should stick the away fans in a corner. Having home supporters behind both goals.

Can't argue with that - Stick them in the SE corner and don't let their fans go behind the goal. Take the goalside block and give them a bit of Y26.

Except that the way the concourses are designed won't allow that - the away segregation means away fans get either half of the South Stand or all of it, no other options are available.

The groundsman's access under the scoreboard would need to go, and several walls and kiosks would need to be moved too. So good idea, but never going to happen.

Jerry St Clair The club are just continuing their schizophrenic policy that "for every yob that leaves, we gain a family of four" but at the same time banging on about backing the boys and making some noise.

You can't have it both ways, Howe. Either accept you have a rowdy element (a la Bristol City last week) and a good atmosphere, or continue turning the place into a creche. I've not seen any serious trouble at the Madejski since Millwall, Cardiff, Bristol Rovers in 2001, so lord knows what they think has been going on.

I doubt they give a shit, but I won't be back at the Madejski this season.

This is why all the other forums should be culled instead of AE.

Can't remember which game it was - Bristol Rovers maybe? But I'll never forget the cavalry charging onto the pitch at the Mad Stad one game - as if world war 3 was about to break out!

In reality it was the usual gesturing by teenagers but no significant crowd trouble.
