Watford (A)

by Garrincha » 22 Apr 2010 11:51

Last September we were languishing in 21st position whilst Watford were flying high in the league & they brought nearly 3,500 to the mad stad with one objective to slaughter Brendan and secondly to support their team. They celebrated a 1-1 draw as if they had just been promoted and sent us down to L1 with our now ex at the helm.

Now 7 months on & the tables have literally turned around quite dramatically. We'll arrive at Vicarage Road with around 2,200 blue and white to show appreciation for our team's remarkable turnaround in 2010 and also to witness many red hornet faces who must now look back to september in embarrassment as to how fortunes have changed for both teams (and for their strange behaviour in celebrating that draw)!

I just hope that we don't witness yet another abysmal game at Vicarage Road as seems to be the case in the past few years and we give them a good tonking to put them 22nd in the league with 1 game to play. Now that would be sweet!

Finally, a mention to all the loyal RFC away supporters who have had a real rollercoaster of a ride this season (witnessing some real horror shows in 2009) but their loyalty has been rewarded in 2010 and I'm sure the player's will show their appreciation to them whatever the result in our final away game on sat.

Totally agree. The behaviour of some of their fans after that game was cringeworthy and has rattled me ever since. I personally can't wait for Saturday to ram the same shit down their throats while supporting the boys having more than several beers in the sun. URZZ.. :D

Who cares, their ire was directed at someone we've sinced fired for being a bit crap.

If Rogers was still here and the positions were as they are now then that would be a different story.

I reckon Watford's survival will be secured this weekend. Sheff Wed lose away to Cardiff and Palace at home to West Brom and they're safe. We can hope though! Spank them 4 or 5-0 and take away their GD advantage over Wednesday and it will be anxious final weekend for them.

I also just thought that the 3 teams could be going into the final weekend all with a chance of relegation and all with survival in their own hands. Complicated.

If Palace and Wednesday both lose then Watford are safe regardless of their own result because the other two play each other last game and cannot both pass Watford in the table.

Worst case scenario for Watford is to lose to us with Wednesday beating Cardiff.
