No brainer to announce it tonight. Lose and its the silver lining, win and it just caps off a brilliant evening.

What I like about the statement is its all talk of investment in the infrastructure; visiting the training ground, revisiting the stadium expansion plans which does kind of fit in with the model they've used in Belgium. It gives hope that they seem to understand about running a football club.

However, first order of business should be give Stam a contract extension.

I thought I read somewhere that we had the guy and proper test by the premier league as well as the football league being conducted at the same time.

It would be bizarre if the PL turned us down. They were ones raising objections with the EFL so you have to guess that the things the Chinese were required to do to gain approval included the PL requirements. There would be little point in the Chinese getting involved at this point if they knew there would be an issue with promotion. Would have made more sense to delay the announcement and carry on as they have been ( which is with the Chinese actively involved, putting money in but not taking ownership.). Once we were promoted they could then work on getting the deal through the PL checks.
