Up into the Div1 promotion zone (unbeaten in 16) ....watched them in the NW Counties League a dozen years or so ago.

A tiny town where northerners go to die these days....amazing to think of what could be next season (our play-off final failure pending of course)

Compared to when I last went there, it is actually quite a decent ground now.....check out the market when you're there. You can still buy brand new 1970's clothing

I was happy for Burton and Yeovil when they came up and will be the same for Fleetwood if they do. Weren't they a non-league side just 5 years ago?

Bournemouth, also a place where people come to die, have shown that the dream is possible.
Mind you, a multi-millionaire owner helps.
A brilliant effort by Fleetwood and the manager did really well at Brentford before it all went wrong elsewhere.

Yep, know someone in Fleetwood and visited the ground a few years back. Was impressed, especially the new stand at the front.
Apparently, there was talk even then that they would look to expand if they went up (which seemed a fanciful idea so it's remarkable to see what they're doing atm). I think they would really need to look at the surrounding area if they did though. There doesn't seem to be much parking around and most away fans would have to get the tram (though fans of the northern clubs like Preston/Wigan/Blackburn etc may drive there). The trams do seem to be better than they were late 90s/early 00s but I can't imagine many away fans being too happy going on them if the away support was big!

Agree, and it will be a massive culture shock if/when the likes of Leeds, Sunderland etc come to town.

Re. parking, guess they may need to strike a deal with the Freeport outlet or somewhere that's walkable.

Meantime, I guess that their relatively low ground capacity will naturally detract from being massively besieged.
