Don't you just hate attention grabbing headlines like that on getreading.co.uk - Thankfully we don't do that kind of thing here on this board.

Already read the article so knew what to expect when I saw this.

That said I'm sure some people will panic.

It's quite annoying really as I often check the site as I want to see any local news. Sometimes there is some decent stories. Rarely though.

There's about 10 Pride of Reading ones - rather than 1-2 of them rightly highlighting the stories.

When IKEA was being opened it was horrific. There was a story from Coventry titled "what's it like to have an ikea"

There was several "stories" per day.

It's a joke. There must be more worthy things to report on. Surely?!

It's what you have to put up with thanks to media companies not believing in local newspapers and deciding all everyone wants is an internet paper

While the premise in itself is not necessarily bad the fact that these companies direct their employees to fill up the whitespace with a load of dross about national celebrities, non-stories, unrelated big name clubs etc. to increase the number of hits on their websites makes for a very poor experience for users who want to know about local stories.

I do worry about a lack of accountability in politics at a local level now. You get the odd person on twitter attending council meetings and posting stuff but it's not enough really.

Oh well, #firstworldproblems I spose.

We could pool resources and run the simulation a thousand times or so and average out the results

Would be interesting* to see how it works against actual results
