Back the boys

by Delboy » 03 Mar 2013 07:19

Now is the time to back the boys if we are to stand any chance ( albeit slim ) of staying up, we can not change the squad. Leave the inquests to the end of the season. QPR win has bought Southampton back in the pack, a win against Villa would be huge. The players need us more than ever on Saturday.

"The boys" need to turn up on Saturday  instead of stand around on the pitch like they did against Wigan

Back the mods and stop people making more of these threads. Doesn't have the same ring to it but the feeling's there.

Agreed if they do not turn up they will get booed! Wigan was unacceptable. I supppose we can feel happy if they go down fighting! if we lose on Saturday that is it done. It is not the players fault
That they are not good enough. Bm picks the team and identifies transfers. Most of our squad are championship level and that is where we are heading.

Expect us to fight for every ball on Saturday. Shots raining in on goal from all angles. Every game is a cup final. Are we up to it?....

Villa is a must win game, and a game we should actually be good enough.

QPR will probably beat Sunderland too so pressure is on.

Watching the MOD highlights of Saints vs QPR just highlighted the difference in quality between us and the teams around us. Villa have quality but lack experience.

I don't subscribe in any way to the 'fans were worth an extra goal' sentiments, but a raucous home crowd might at least see the players start the game with a bit of adrenaline. Only around 700 bothered to make the trip to Everton at the weekend so you have to say that Reading fans don't really deserve top flight football anyway.

Loving your location Floydy.

I was known as the same on OAE.

Re: this thread. As a founder member of the notorious Reading firm known as The Reading Silent Squad, I'm out.

Cheers.

Agreed. Let's back the boys during the game not moaning at every misplaced pass.

Mutterings of discontent will not help and the negativity will hurt the performance, like it did last Saturday. Let's show our class as fans and try to act like the 12th man - this result could be crucial come the end of the season.

If we do play like we did against Wigan then we can have a moan after the game when it won't affect them! I don't mind people booing as long as the game's over - they've paid their money after all but let's not do it while we still have a slim hope of survival.

Extract from the Premier League Number and Stats:

Reading have the lowest possession (40.7%) and pass accuracy (68.9%) stats in the Premier League.

God I'd forgotten about infantile tantrum seat banging. We're not getting that pathetic display in Y25 & 26 again are we? That makes going even more unbearable than piss poor performances.

Disagree. Most of our squad played in the championship - didn't mean that they were ALL championship level simply because we won that league. (Some were PL, some may have been league 1 or 2). In other words if we manage to stay up, does it mean they will then all be premiership level and we can all stop biatchin'?

Delboy The players need us more than ever on Saturday.

Disagree. I think there have been times in the clubs history when they have needed us more that this Saturday.
