Not sure what's more glorious - strap's meltdown or Dave not knowing what "mathematically" means.

Now I'm not so surprised.

I'd rather lose this game 10-0 than a last minute equaliser paper over the cracks.

We're shit. We may as well get the scoreline we deserve.

It's alright, we all knew you were a knob already.
maybe it's just a heterosexual thing, but when I see knobs on here I tend ignore them rather than tease them.

to be fair, BBC Berks clearly don't know what it means either.

Are you watching a different game? In the one I saw we outplayed Forest for 90 minutes and put in a pretty good performance all round.
that is some incredible reading of a game from 2wwers

It's nothing to do with waiting for a transplant you absolute helmet. It's a play on words on the username. Try reading.

Only someone completely unhinged would have read that in anyway differently and then send threatening messages on the back of it.

Does the mathematically safe bit include looking at who plays who ?
Obviously that could mean teams other than MK might drop points if they lose to MK and therefore not be able to catch us,
Mathematically means looking at all the permutations, not just the current bottom 3

No.

I looked at it before Forest and it only took 4 games for us to be in the relegation zone. There's no way the combunations become impossible with just 3 extra points.

One of the media outlets, can't remember which, was stating that we were mathematically safe after Saturday's win; so maybe they have a computer program that works out all the possible result scenarios through to the end of the season.

Forest have got Rotherham, Blackburn, Fulham and MK Dons but even if they lost all of those, they are only 5 points behind with 2 other games.

Rotherham have Forest and MK Dons so even if they lost them, they can still catch us.

I don't believe we are mathematically safe yet but we probably will be come 5pm on Saturday.

Don't get me wrong, it's going to be "as you were" for the bottom 3.

They were categorically wrong. I'm 94% sure they're still wrong

I had a look this morning.
It looks unlikely that we're mathematically safe, even if you accept all the various permutations of the bottom half playing each other. But itd take some time to prove or disprove it.

Perhaps the more reassuring stat is that we would have to be worse over the last 6/7 games than every team between 14th and 22nd - significantly worse than some of them. That's a tall ask. Maybe we really are mathematically safe.

Not a stat but more of a statement...

We will not be getting relegated this season. File away your predictions and other statistical data and worry about something more important.
