I don't know how many times this has to be said until Brian or Sir John get the message but

WE

NEED

A

STRIKER

NOW

If only to give an alternative option to Noel "1 goal per game" Hunt and Shane "1 goal all season" Long.

I'm quite happy that our well run club is spending £10,000 a week on a striker who can't actually function as a striker, but who runs a lot works hard and makes the odd assist. Perhaps it can spend half that amount on a real striker like Noel Hunt, who, shock horror, can actually score. A tall target man would be a good choice. Basically a Rasiak or better.

2 world wars, 1 world cup Shane "1 goal all season" Long.

I'm getting a bit pissed off with all this 'from open play' bollocks. Unless there's been a recent rule change, goals from the penalty spot still count!

Yes they do but we do need someone who has the clinical finishing ability to finish off chances like the one Shane Long had on Saturday. For example I am quite certain that if Jamie Cureton had that chance he would have scored it (obviously I am talking about the Jamie Cureton that played for us and not the Jamie Cureton of the present day). Whether Cureton would have forced that chance like Shane did is another thing.

You can't have it both ways WR.

Nobody on the planet would ever call Shane Long prolific
but he makes chances, batters defenders etc. Many of the chances
he gets he has to make himself.

IMO, we have found the perfect pairing and the obvious last-15-minutes sub. Smash and grab Long-Hunt, with Church coming on late for either one, depending on circumstances.

Let's face it, if a Long-Hunt partnership produced 6 and 15 goals more each by the end of the season, we'd be pretty pleased

Hopefully Kebe will get back to full fitness and top form soon, too

Absolutely. They picked on it for the simple reason it's a new weapon to bash Long.

How many pens do other strikers score?
