Mid Sussex Royal Toney on target again for Brentford, 6 goals now this season.

They have a top notch scouting system.

Tbf he has cost them £5-10m from Div1 and no doubts every club in the champ would have been interested in him

Not really an undiscovered gem like some of their signings

How long does Cocu have left before he’s the second (third if you include Bowen) sacking of the season?

It`s like a bloody conveyor belt of goal scorers at Brentford isn`t it? first Maupay, then Watkins and now Toney.

It's a process that works if you get the first one right. Maupay was a great find that worked and once they sold him on for vast profit makes it easier for them to attract Watkins. Toney is different in that a lot of Championship clubs would have taken him as he is clearly good enough for this level, possibly even PL but most did not have the millions available to bring him in, Brentford having sold Watkins for close to 30m could spend whatever was needed for Toney knowing again that his goals will either get them promoted or increase his value. At worst, if he had bombed they could take the financial hit.

Yeah exactly that. I’m sure he didn’t come cheap wages wise either

Still you then have to work to make him a success and he has certainly started well

Don’t forget Andre Gray. Even Clayton Donaldson before him had a pretty decent tally.

It has to be said whilst these are good goal scorers, their style of play and system really complement them.

Indeed.

Anyway, interesting games this weekend

Watford V Bournemouth
Bristol City v Swansea

Very possible that the following results happen this Saturday:

Reading 1 Rotherham 0
Watford 0 Bournemouth 0
Bristol City 1 Swansea 2

Would leave the table as:

Reading 19pts
Swansea 14pts
Watford 14pts
Bristol City 14pts

Millwall could be on 14pts too if they beat Barnsley.

Think Watford will beat Bournemouth and then the pcuntdits will be spunking themselves over the “premier league quality champions elect”.

Kind of reminds me a bit of West Ham and we all know how that turned out

Bookies obviously don't fancy us yet either, despite the start we are only 8th favourites for promotion.

Before the game? 9th I believe, start of the season, think it was about 20th/21st from memory.

Start of season I meant.

Quite a move then really, I would have been more surprised if we higher than that - at the moment this is no more than a good run - if we keep this going for a few more games and even open up a slightly bigger gap then odds will move in more.
