That'll be the Chelsea influence.

CMRoyal
Royalee That is the best interview I've ever seen a Reading manager give having just been on the Evening Post Website.

I wouldn't quite go that far (are you in love with him?) but fuc k me, this is a new era with bells on, isn't it? And he's upset Watford again. This is shaping up to be the most interesting pre-season in many a year.

Royalee only sees in black and white.

Or should that be blue and white?

You really don't understand him, do you?

He's nailed his colours to the mast. He will now stick to his position through thick and thin. Rodgers will be the best manager we've ever had even if he manages successive relegations. Coppell will remain totally useless.

Just realised who he reminds me of - Graeme Souness.

Just saw the interview, it's a very assured, encouraging and determined interview.
He is extremely confident in his ability and just as importantly the ability of the players that we have, that we have lost, perhaps about to lose and perhaps about to gain.
The media comparison with Coppell is dead in the water, two different characteristics and demeanour, but both love the game and have the Club's best interest at heart.
Both sincere and both professional.

Anyway, who cares, leave the blinkered people remain to be so.

Yep. Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be as big a b*stard as Souness!

Tommy Smith will do well but three Chelsea youth won't get us up - Mancienne is pony.

Coppell wasn't totally clueless, he just didn't have the strength required to back his own ideas and was too slow to pick things out and take charge which is why he's not done well at the top level since the money machine that is the Premier League was conceived. Rodgers is very much a modern manager, is not afraid to say exactly what he thinks, is very clever in terms of his approach and has excellent man-management skills. There is absolutely no chance we'll be languishing in the lower reaches of the Championship while he's at the helm.

Interesting video and much better than the spin they put on the official website.

Was interesting that Rodgers looked very defensive, folding his arms when asked about Priskin.

Several times for Wolves and the U21s and my Chelsea supporting housemate who's followed his progress in their youth and reserves also raves about him and is shocked they're considering loaning him to the Championship again this year. I take it you haven't?

Was part of a Wolves defence that let 4 goals in against us last season?

But I reckon he'll be alright with us.

Yeah me too, you'll know exaclty what I mean then. But hey, if you've got a mate who supports Chelsea then that settles it

I actually think he will turn out to be a decent player but needs to start competeing more strongly in the air and also not just rely on his pace to get him out of trouble when he gets caught out. How tall is he? Might make a better FB at the moment.

6 foot 1/2 inch apparently, he's not bad in the air - Pearce is exceptional in the air and I think with Mancienne's pace and comfort with the ball at his feet would be an excellent partnership.

Pearce and Mancienne would scare the hell out of me at the back. Both very error prone.

Don't get the Pearce (over) appreciation but am willing to be proved wrong.
