Franchise FC
Kieron1981 True, after he did well he came back to stake his claim in the team. this hasnt happened

This is a real kick in the teeth for him, i thinkl he would have given up on Reading now

Sorry, but Lita has only himself to blame. He isn't a team player, emotionally or on the pitch, hasn't produced the goods consistently and doesn't deserve a place in the team. Good luck to him, but I'm not sorry to see him go - another wage bill saving !!

^^^^

I agree with this.

I am disappointed we could not have done this earlier.

Old Biscuitman Coppell is known to prefer his players to be intelligent. I know of course that this is a very relative term, but it seems to me to be the missing factor with Lita.

His captain is James Harper, I think that dispells your theory!!!

he could get injured, or suffer another loss of form, leaving him stuck here again for another 1/2 or whole season.
like it or not, you cant really hold it against the bloke, though ill be hard pressed not to if either he or hunt do walk in jan, and we falter
being idealistic they should all stay, but im sure they are just more realistic than we are
no footballer wants the pinacle of his career to be RFC
whenther we like it or not

Royal Rother If (big if) we sell Doyle, (and if Lita hasn't come back from Norwich firing on all cylinders in the meantime) we wouldn't need to keep all the money so I am sure we would sign another striker. Nugent would be my choice as well - Portsmouth are going to be skint so it is highly likely they will be looking to thin the squad out and, as we will be one of the very few clubs below Portsmouth's level with the ability to spend, I reckon there would be a reasonable chance of getting him. (If Coppell fancies him of course.)

I'd (still) look for someone who can play deeper and offer a physical presence. It is pretty much the only thing our strike force could do with.

Always sad to see a -1 in the black man column.

Hope we bring in an adequate replacement in January.

Norwich fans over at the Pink'Un are chuffed!

Also, am I right in thinking that there's an international break so it's a 2 week loan?

Woodcote Royal So when did Lita last outscore Long?

Erm, over the past three seasons, Lita has scored 32 goals whereas Long has only scored 11. I'd say that's Lita outscoring Long.

I'd say that was one of Lita's fan club trying to distort his current value to the team.

How many league goals did Lita score for us last season? One

And how many has he got this season? That's a big round number less than one.

Long got an unimpreessive three last season and must grateful to Leroy for helping to place his stats in the best possble light :|

In reality, Lita has not outscored Long in recent times.

He gives the team very little when he not scorng and will, therefore, always be our worst striker when he can't find the back of the net.

This is why, once again, Long will stay and Lita will go out on loan (and brace yourself for the possibility that this could be the last we see of him :| )

Last season was the only season that Long has actually outscored Lita. The two seasons before that, Lita outscored Long.

outscored him with 3, eesh.

Has Long scored double figures in his career yet? Or is it still 8 in 60 odd appearances.

He left in the summer!

Sorry Mr P, I could have sworn I saw the Ego prancing and preening on the pitch before the Swansea game?

Wasn't it more like 5? Man City at home, Pompey away, Newcastle at home come to mind, but I'm 100% sure he scored other goals. He also got at least one in the cup.

Lita has only had three good spells for the club. Start of 05-06, mid 05-06 (he was terrible for a while between those two), and Jan-Feb 07. For the rest of his time at the club, he has been terrible and has only scored two league goals outside of those periods ('boro and Derby). Long has been lively since his debut and has scored consitantly- I mean at a consistant rate, not every match. Long's goals to minutes record is probably a lot better than Lita's. Long contributes something other than goals- Lita does. Every criticsm that can be aimed at Long can be aimed at Lita.
