Alan Partridge Schards - I can't be bothered to go back a couple of pages and quote your run down of the money in, but it makes an interesting point. Where has it all gone? Media CentROFLe, training ground improvements and pay rises for John Madejski, John Madejski's daughters, their servants and their pet tortoise Alan.

For years we've been told the club runs a tight ship, yes it made a loss but not that much compared to a hell of a lot of clubs. The last 2 years income would have been absolutely enormous, and now thy will recieve another £16million in parachute money.

Maybe JM has locked it all away and is playing a version of the old ITV quiz show 'The Vault' where Steve, Wally et al have to try and guess the password to get in to it. They should just hire Terry Venables, he'll crack it in 5 minutes.

That for me is THE issue of this summer. Where is all the money? If we are going to sell key players like Kitson, then will NOT go up without spending some serious cash. Our team is now categorically weaker than the one that won the Championship. No question. Surely the club know that?

I can think of only three possible scenarios in terms of the cash:-

1) We were in a lot more financial trouble then anyone let on when we went up, and now we've repaid debts
2) Mr Mad is pocketing it as payback on his 'loans'
3) We are just sitting on it and for some unknown reason are just scared to spend it.

The club's PR is a walking disaster. They actually lied to us about Kitson being ill. Who the fcuk do they think they are? They need to start giving us some answers and less of this bullsh1t rhetoric.

I tell you what is really funny, The absolute positive bollocks they've put up on the site today!!

Matejovsky is the man this season

Now look at our defensive options they are amazing

Royal Fleet Given that our best crosser of the ball has also left, maybe we need to try something different!

Coppell may go for someone with out and out pace.

I assume Nicky Hammond will be taking in the Beijing 100m final later next month then?

http://www.eatsleepsport.com/reading/reading-laugh-stoke-bid-759583.html

The club have laughed off rumours that the Potters have tabled a bid of £4.5million for the flame-haired striker as a number of Premier League outfits look to take on the former Cambridge striker.

Reports claim Reading have placed a £6million price tag on Kitson which is likely to put off the Potters who are eager to add to their strike force.

Kitson missed Reading's friendly against Forrest Green, fueling rumours he would be on his way out.

However, Coppell has confirmed Kitson was ill and that he expects him to return to the side for their pre-season game at the MK Dons.

"Kits called the physio Jon Fearn at 5am to say he felt really unwell and fluey," said Coppell. "Hopefully it is just a 24-hour bug but we didn't want him infecting everyone else in the squad so we told him not to come in.

"He should feel better by the weekend and he should be okay to travel with us to Milton Keynes."

Whoever it is obvioulsy thinks that whoever reads the website has no access to the millions of other websites/televison/radio etc etc etc that have reported the sale.

LOL

ive lost count of teh number of times that any team have said someone is ill, or doing some family stuff when actually they dont want to play them in case an injury scuppers a prospective deal

and stop with the money stuff-the accounts are in the public domain-im not going through them again!
the debts to mr mad are well known
there simply is no huge pot of cash hoarded away here at RFC
especially when you take into account we will probably make a multimillion pound loss this coming season-even with the wage/squad reductions.

i am impressed with the investment that stoke are putting in though-even if im not sure its going to work
simply cant see reading buying anyone for close to 4-6 million, and thats probably why we went down

Those quotes must be taken from Tuesday though otherwise why would Coppell be talking about a 24 hour bug?

He hasn't bought a cheap imitation watch has he? Perhaps he gets his watches from the same place as his right wingers!

The official site isn't there to publish rumours - that is what all these other sites are for.

They will report it when it has been finalised.

Interesting that there's been talk for a very long time that Shorey was leaving, then Hunt, then Doyle, then Harper. But it's actually Little, then Kitson who are the first to sneak out of the door.

Incidentally, I totally agree about the club's awful PR and the disrespect it shows the fans. An absolute disaster. The Press or PR department, whatever they call themselves, should be fired en masse.

Just like to say I agree completely with what AP and Schards have been saying further up, where has all the money gone?!?

In the minor hope that the money generated from this move will go back into the first team, does anyone know how far over £5 mill the deal is??

Hoop Blah We did have successful spells without Kitson in the side, but we looked a better team with Kitson playing and Coppell frequently talked about Kitson being the central player to the way he wanted to the team to play.....

Would you not agree that our best ever team was the one that took us to 8th in the Premier League? Kitson (through no fault of his own of course) didn't contribute a lot to that achievement.

We played very well without him for most of that season and will do so again next season I'm sure.

Move on, look forwards not backwards. Sure, he was class at times and was great to watch but you place an unrealistic amount of importance on his contribution to the team.

 -please see numerous other popsts since relegation before trotting out this tired old shite

we were never going to were we though.
ever
no one thought we would

our 8th place the previous season was enough to convince me that with the loss of one player we would still be good enough to stay up

congratulations for being right

im off to flagellate my self for daring to have expressed some positivity

As for Kitson there is no smoke without fire and ive heard from to many places that he rocks the boat

his attitude wasnt great at times last season so dropping a division will only make it worse

a big ginger hypocrite, he got frustrated playing for us last year and he's walking into a Tony Pulis team pmsl couldt make it up

bye Dave

no-its not drivel
i am impressed at the investment-im still not sure itll work for them, and if we had spent 6 million we may could still easily have gone down 6 m lighter
thats just opinion matey
im not espousing it as fact in any way

if you are talking about the club accounts-just go and look at them
