Seems pretty reasonable and on the mark to me.

They were the better team between boxes, but we had the better moments. Their comments perfectly fair. If they had a player like Wing who provides more cutting edge and they would have won.

Yeah, despite their dominance, I can't remember Pereira having to make a save.

Fair comments

Mansfield lacked that bit of creativity- became a bit predictable and I thought we were better team second half

Their fans were v good though. Positive and good numbers. Fair play

From Despair To Where?
Every point is two fingers up to our owner.

It does worry me that Dai will be thinking "well, my technique is working."

I mean, he's asset stripped us last season, and we're challenging for promotion this one. And our academy keeps producing.

Kind of a sh*tter to be in really.

Yeah, it's not like he's getting back even half of the money he's sunk into us, even if we were to win the PO Final and get a deal through then.

Not that I expect it was real money. Just loans

The writer is having a laugh regarding our pitch !!! Nothing wrong with it that i can see, in fact surely it’s in decent nick !!! He is correct about Charlton though. I watched the goals from yesterday’s game against Wycombe and the pitch is in atrocious condition.

We actually commented on how ropey the pitch was looking before kick off.

I think the writer overdoes it bit about our so-called time wasting, but other than that, it's a refreshingly well-written summary.

Also didn't see a lot wrong with the pitch, given the time of year, from the TV admittedly.

Also don't think there was a lot of time wasting. Throw ins were slow, but that's par for the course, especially when Mansfield were so organised at picking people up quickly ahead of them. I've seen far more egregious. Maybe I'm getting blind to the frequent ouchies our players complain of though. Mbengue being particularly guilty.

Great away following. Mansfield definitely a new 'club I like'.

Don't know about refreshingly well written, to me, it seems quite bitter.

I did too; far from awful though. It certainly doesn't help we played on it on Boxing Day, so maybe hasn't had the same sort of recovery opportunity it would usually get.

It will probably look a bit better by the time of our next home game in a couple of weeks.

Pitch wasn’t brilliant but seen a lot worse. Really hard to keep them looking great this time of the year with no sunshine and lots of rain, suspect those sunshine machines are very expensive to run

Agree report overdid the time wasting bit - didn’t see a lot of it tbh. I think I felt 5mins was about right, maybe a min or two too much

Re. The pitch

The undersoil plumbing is f11cked and costly repairs aren't imminent, the groundsmen are not allowed to use electric substitutes right now.
Under these conditions, the pitch looked just fine.

Fair enough, guessed it was either the drainage or the light machine that wasn’t working/too expensive

sadly (and a sign of our current times), it’s both

Of course….

Still like you say it wasn’t awful considering time of year

Was quite surprised at how quickly the grounds staff started cutting the grass post-match. Guess it’s easier at this time of year doing it while the floodlights are still on. Wonder if it’s the best way to preserve the quality of (what’s left of) the pitch?
