He's a referee assessor. No really, he is.

Royal_jimmy We're becoming rather famous for being persistent with managers who aren't up to the job.

Paunovic, Ince, Selles (who luckily turned it around) and now Hunt

Did we do any better when Managers were lasting a year or so, even less in some cases? Yes, we may have in been in a higher League, but the results weren't all that good were they?

Long term no, but Paunovic had a very good first 6 months (but missed out on the play offs) and Ince, Clement & Gomes kept us up when relegation looked likely. I seriously believe a manager/coach with more tactical nous would get a better tune from this group of players.

What is a realistic target for this season? If it's simply not to get relegated then we can hang on to Hunt for a while yet. If it is promotion or at least play-offs then has that ship already sailed, regardless of manager? Either way, I don't expect Couhig to let Hunt go any time soon

I've reached the end. We're not getting much better. He's had 14 league games this season which is ample opportunity. Hunt Out.

Paunovic lasted 1 year and 174 days
Ince lasted 1 year and 51 days
Utterly insane to describe Selles as 'not up to the job' with his overall record (> 40% win %) but also lasted 1 year and 163 days
Hunt is currently on < 1 year (320 days)

These are not long periods for managers to remain in a job.

'persistent'

Dire football all season - Hunt is maybe a good coach, but no manager. It's time up from me. Time to be ruthless RC.

I’m past caring that much whether he gets the boot atm but I don’t believe we’ll be either a successful or enjoyable team to watch with him here.

If the board want to ‘wait and see’ and be ‘patient’ until they come to that same conclusion then fine

It feels like BBCRB coverage is pretty skewed, blaming recruitment and the quality of the squad. I simply don't buy it. Experience like Pereira, O'Connor,Williams, Yiadom, Savage, Wing, Lane, Ritchie, Marriot who are proven in L1. Younger options who can improve like Jacob, Burns, Abrefa, Ahmed, Kyerewaa, Ehibhatiomhan, Dorsett, Elliott, Doyle, Fraser, Garcia, Camara.

The squad is obviously has more potential than is being shown.

Has now lost the fans and the dressing room.

Fraser is not injured but had a bust up with Hunt; as has Lane (but is still being selected). (source Huang Kad)

Time to go - NOW

I just think of course our players aren't as good as Bindon, Mbengue, Knibbs, Smith and Azeez, who are all playing at a higher level for a reason.

But do they match them for potential compared to 2 years ago? Obvious example - Lane is a similar age to Knibbs when we signed him, and already has a L1 season under his belt with double figures goals and assists. We should be able to help him develop like we did Knibbs. Kyerewaa is raw, quick without composure and end product but works hard, like Azeez was. Burns has come out of the City academy, looks decent on the ball and has >50 EFL appearances under his belt. He potentially has a higher ceiling than O'Connor and Williams and is definitely ahead of where Bindon was 2 years ago, but looks like a liability in this team. O'Mahony had a promising loan at Portsmouth in the Championship and has dominated the PL U21s league; we held off a lot of competition to sign him. But he looks lost.

But we say the squad isn't as good as last year and experienced players are injured. Well I'm calling bullshit. It's the nature of L1 to lose your best players, and the coaching staff's job is to develop new ones, which we're failing miserably in. Clubs like Wimbledon, Bradford and Stevenage don't have as squads as good as ours on paper, but they are better teams due to better coaching.

Not won a league game coming from behind with hunt as manager. Nearly a calendar year he’s been in charge

I’m struggling to see how we’re getting any better. The style of play (such as there is) is wholly unsuited to the forwards we have.

Constant long balls from the back to players either too small or not able to win in the air. When we do there’s no one to flick it on to.

Hybrid possession football that involves playing it around at the back ineffectively and then banging it forward to cede possession.

I’m all for loyalty and giving managers time but where is this team going?

Not forward, but surviving Leon

Which is obviously further forward than we were this time last year.

I mean, it's true. Let's say this season goes to shit and we get relegated. We can get promoted back, it sets us back a few years.

People were speculating about ground sharing with Maidenhead and playing in the 7th tier.
