The Stoke rivals board is a Sjoke - The (proper) Oatcake is almost universally praising the signing.

Wealdstone at home Spot on - everything communicated by the club and the players is luke warm and lacks conviction and sincerity - it reminds me a bit of our government at present - the more they to say what they think we want to hear the more shaky I feel about the season ahead

Quite.

Skin

Talk about twisting the knife. They don't even want him.

And they love talking about sucking cock. Ho Hum.

They don't know who they have got - those replies show a huge lack of knowledge about the game.

Marlon King is better than Kitson

Royalee
Uke Is there no way we can get the comments of posters when from when we bought Kitson?

The ones about third rate, lack of ambition, etc...?

I was one of the few on here who lauded him as a superb signing having seen him play against us for Cambridge. It was probably the people on here now saying everything is alright and Coppell's got it under control though to be honest so their opinions didn't carry as much weight as a sponge.

ah yes, this superb vision and foresight you possess, like this from July 2005 perhaps...

Royalee
Gordons Cumming You're all going to look stupid when we're top at Xmas.

Top at Xmas? Someone's had a few too many sherrys.

but at least you've been consistent in you criticism of Coppell and his transfer dealings, such as this comment in July 2006 (Seol's transfer)

Royalee Excellent player as long as it goes through and shows how astute Coppell is in the transfer market. I reckon this could be the first of a few signings progressing in the next few days.

...although Sidwell got no sympathy, but you had the solution lined up...

Royalee Offer him a certain amount we can afford and stick to it. If he doesn't take it, he can fcuk off. He's not irreplaceable and the season before last he was poor. Gunnarsson showed he was equal to him in the first half of this season and only since coming back from injury has Sidwell recaptured the good form he had when he signed for us. .

Royalee £3 million is almost double Sidwell's worth, I'd bite Man City's arms off.

mind you, credit where credit's due, you did, as you said, predict we'd finish 8th.

Well it's a huge profit on £150,000. We've had Kitson's best years, he is 28 and has hardly played a full season in his career.

I am not overly fussed about him going, in many ways I am happy to see the back of Mr Ego, however I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in Dumb and Dumber trying to replace him.

Agreed.

You know any other club in the world would at least try and replace him. RFC will sit back and push the 'happy with what we have got' line until the transfer deadline passes.

Would that be the beginning of July before we made five or six signings?

I admit to being wrong on the Seol transfer, but you took that Sidwell remark from before the beginning of the 2006/7 season. This was based on the assumption that Gunnarsson would be good enough that season (which many pointed out in summer 2007 that he had been) and also that we would attempt to strengthen ourselves in the Premier League as that is generally what managers look to do, not let 31 year olds get two years older and give them new contracts when they're getting even more injury prone.

I'd also like the date of the prediction I made given that I definitely predicted we'd finish 8th in the month of August.

The next time you bring up old quotes, show the whole story instead of attempting to take them completely out of context.

Have to say that Kitson leaving is a bit of a blow but I'm not exactly surprised. To be honest his last 6 months have hardly been filled with glory and so long as we've put a sell on clause in there I can live with whatever valuation.

Does anyone expect us to bring in a new striker? I'm almost certain the Bulgarian chap will be given a go.

£5m is not bad money for a 28 year old.

Lita and Doyle are easily good enough or the championship, and with Long and maybe a young new player offering back up, we won't miss the Ginger Ninja too much.

Good luck Kits, and God Bless.

club is quoted in the chronicle today as "laughing off a £4 million bid from stoke for kitson"

laughing at £4 million, bit not £5 million it seems ?

and all this bo##ocks about him having a cold, never believed that for a start, and it just makes the club look like arses.

i thought that the usual suspects (ie shorey, hunt) would be out the door before someone like kitson
but it seems like our dave has been itching to get away since may 11th.

love the fact that kitson was the one player quoted after coppell decided to stay (said something along the lines of, he was "delighted, and "great for the club")

obviously not that delighted , eh dave ?

just gets better and better doesnt it ?, my two favourite players are the first two out the door (little, now kitson)

even if players like doyle wanted to stay before, theres no way he'll want to now, so that means us trying to find 2 players who are capable of scoring us 15-20 goals each.

and knowing the way coppell and hammond do things, they'll sign someone no ones ever heard of from uzbekistan (sp) when what we need is a proven 20 goals a season player, someone who's going to lift the spirits of the fans of this club who are rapidly losing any confidence they might have had about this season.

like i say,i really don't hold out any hope of coppell and squeaky bringing in that type of player, as its not the "reading way" of doing things is it ?

coppell must have known that kitson wanted out pretty much from the start ,so any manager worth his salt would have had some names of quality replacements in mind ready to move as soon as a deal for kitson was agreed (even sounding the players out several weeks beforehand),seeing if they're interested in a move here ?

but knowing coppell and the club in general, they'll only start looking now.

3 weeks tll the season starts and we'll probably sign some no mark a week before the season starts

or even more likely is coppell saying he's "happy wth what we have" (ie doyle, lita, long)

that is till a week b4 the season starts and someone buys doyle, and gives us no time to find a replacement

i had so much confidence about this season, and now it's evaporating by the day

As I said elsewhere, nice of RFC to lie to us again. Do you reckon they get some perverse kick out of it?

Are you oxf*rd joking? seriously i have ignored this thread for weeks as just laughed at the possibility he would even consider Stoke.

I thought he would only ever play for Tottenham if anyone.

Is this actually factual in any way? i can't be bothered to troll through 21 pages.

Surely not?

IF he did it would have to be for about £6.5 million straight.. Look at Diomansy Kamara and Bobby Zamora.

Be uproar if this goes through!
