EDIT: Currently 5 people have voted for relegation as their 'minimal acceptable level of success' for the season :| .[/quote]

Make that 6. Reading til I die. Plastics out!

title asks what your expectation of the season is, slightly different from what we class as success. relegation is definately failure this season

based on what I have seen so far I expect us to be relegated, some may despair at me, I despair at those that think we will get promoted

i do hope I am wrong! i'd rather be pleasantly surprised than seriously disappointed.

how many of those that think we will be promoted this season, or even top half finish, were also the ones adamant we were not rubbish in the 2nd half of last season and would still go up automatically

05/06 i knew after the 3rd game, preston away, we were special and expected us to get promoted

07/08 i knew after bolton away (game 2??) we were in for a difficult season

We haven't lost to any of our rivals for the level I expect us to achieve this season, around mid table.

I'd rather think of it as a list of our most crucial priorities for the season tbh.

1) Avoid relegation (17-21)
2) Have a decent plan "B"
3) Build a squad that with a couple of additions is ready to move forward next season
4) Settle on a system and first 11 that works
5) Bring through at least 3 of Pearce, Karacan, Long, Henry, Hamer, Siggurdsson, Davies, Church, Kelly, & Robson-Kanu as established and proven players at this level.
6) Finish mid-table (11-16)
7) Finish top half (7-10)
8) Challenge for promotion (3-6)
9) Promotion (2/play off winners)
10) Champions

We will not sign anyone before the window shuts. I am off to the bookies lunchtime to shove £20 on us to get relegated.

Sarah Star I did think that mid-table would be my lowest expectation of this season and that we'd still be pushing for promotion. I've had to readjust that view in the last few weeks and now my lowest expectation is that we'll be bottom half of the table. I would be very unhappy if we were struggling against relegation though.

Thats how I see it....somwhere around 17th and 18th :|

Though now we appear to have signed Tommy Smith, I've readjusted that back up a few places to mid-table again.

When I've seen him play I might readjust again.

Readjusted downwards again as he's not coming and I've just seen us lose to Barnsley.

Right!

Last season we went 22 games with only 4 wins which, in anyone's language is relegation form. Since the end of last season a number of established first team players have left:

Hahnemann
Murty
Doobs
Lita
Doyle
Shunt

What have they been replaced by?

Bertrand
Mills

Hardly strengthening the squad is it?

Now, if 4 wins out of 22 was bad, why should this season be any better?

£20 on relegation. I will confirm the odds later!

These are REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL FACTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Mad Man out now!

I doubt you'll better the lovely 20/1 I got pre season.

On the down side, on the assumption we signed Tommy Smith, I backed him as the Championship top scorer, that's gone tits up

Schards#2 From where we are right now, i'd accept staying up.

To have to make that statement two years after we finished eighth in the premiership is a testimony to the triumph of the brick by brick approach adopted by this club.
