Tongue in cheek mate, in line with all of the other "I'm looking forward to" threads created in the past...

Finding out Rodgers isn't just all hype.

Seeing Long score 15+ goals this season.

I can dream too as well cant I ?
As it will be unlikely that we will get another striker in to cover Doyle.

Why should anyone eat their words when you never did / do?

With regards to what?

Royalee Passing the ball on the ground
Exciting football
Plan B
Good man-management
Ambition
Shots and goals
Matejovsky being used properly
Defenders capable of passing in a straight line
Crosses which stay on the pitch
Interviews
Turning up to games with optimism and excitement again rather than realisation of impending doom
Someone able to identify why if it's 'just not clicking' instead of trying to ignore things in the hope they'll magically change
Youngsters being given a chance
Players being picked on merit

That's what I look forward to every season. I wonder how long it will last this year. :)

Yes, I admit I got those wrong. Any others? I'd say those were less important to get wrong than predicting we'd go down months in advance in 2008 and slamming those who protested for Coppell to stay last May.

Derby will win the Championship? Derby will finish above us?

Your slamming of Coppell's supporters was not accurate, given he exceeded your expectations for the season and met most of their's. Keeping him was not a poor move. Just because it didn't work out perfectly doesn't mean it wasn't the best, or a good decision. We are now in a good position for Rodgers to build a strong promotion campaign over the next 2 or 3 years.

Exactly the reason, I and others wanted Coppell last season, as well as him being the man to keep most of our squad together and give us a good chance of promotion last season. Which he did.

I'd like to stop arguing with you, because you talk a lot of sense on the subject of Rodgers and the general running of the club now. But your like a rabid dog barking at the moon when it comes to Coppell.

You confuse my expectations of Coppell with my expectations given the squad we had if a decent manager had replaced him.

Anyway, he's gone and I look forward to this season.

Actually playing some decent football, please! I can't remember the last Reading game I went to and enjoyed as a footballing spectacle, it feels like an eternity.

Also looking forward to a new fresh feeling around the club, different players getting a chance, etc. It just felt a little stale towards the end of last season.

Getting stupidly p*ssed before the game.
Arriving at games up to 20mins into the first half.
Going down to the concourse 10mins before half time.
Watching 20mins of the second half in the concourse.
F*cking off back into town to get more lashed and have a LOLaugh.

New ideas, new start, looking forward to this 'new era',
More attacking football, substitutions being made a little earlier,
Players being played on standard of form rather than being too loyal,
Seeing new faces, young blood in the team,
Marek, I agree with.. Hope he continues the form he started in the last few games of last season,
Shane Long,
The Watford games.

And a season which is un-predictable! God knows who our player of the year will be.
