It's extremely unfair to blame one individual for the failings of the team and management. Stephen Hunt and Jimmy Kebe were far worse. Bikey had his moments of madness. As has already been pointed out you cannot blame a defender for the lack of goals. Surely the blame lies either with whoever picks the under-performing players or with the under-performing team as a whole.

No-one is irreplaceable. I hope the new man in charge 'plays' the loan system more effectively than Coppell ever did.

jesus christ how many times does it have to be said, they were bad because they didnt get given the ball from defence, so either they were far too high up the pitch to receive the ball cos they knew it would be a hoof, or they didnt get it all.

or the midfield players wern't getting in positions to receive the ball (true of Hunt and Kebe) and the defenders had to hoof it to provide a moment of respite.

Duberry has never, ever been a ball-playing centre-back. He's a centre-back, simple as.

His job is to stop the ball getting past him - if that means putting it into Row Z or hoofing it forward then that's fine by me. Defenders defend, and he's done that pretty well.

Yes, there are a few ball-playing centre-backs around, but they're pretty rare and won't be playing for the likes of Reading, unless they're poorer at defending than Doobs.

Stop speaking so much sense DG!

Do you think they let him go due to his big salary and the fact we have Ingi?

Without Ingi next year I am scared about our defence...

You are joking aren't you? 'They were bad becausse they didn't get given the ball from defence' ... so you're telling me the reason we created so few chances is because our mid-field saw so little of the ball? Did you go to any games this season - they saw plenty of it; look at the Burnley game, first half, we had probably 70% of the ball, we just couldn't score. Stop blaming a CB for our inability to score any goals for god's sake.
