Keepers don't tend to be punished that badly for one absolute clanger out of the blue, these things happen sometimes. If Jones is ahead of FEd i the pecking order I'd expect him to start the next match as well.
The only reason I can see Fed starting the next game is if the manager planned to do that anyway.

Take Kalack as an example.
He should never have been picked anyway.
Schwarzer had made no mistakes and was as solid
as a rock. A rush of blood made his selection and
he made a real boo boo.
Not as bad as that blunder with Jones though.
The name Kalack has been quiet since though.
Surely Adam Federici must be so close to getting the
no 1 as he should be, and getting Very close to Marcus's
spot too
