URZZZZ
Clement was never going to be liked because he was a "Gourlay appointment" and everyone despised Gourlay. People liked Howe because he got rid of the "Deadwood" straight away so thus trusted his judgement. That's why the "feel good" factor is there

Don’y Buy the CEO point at all. For years Howe was disliked by many, people loved to mention him being rude or arrogant to them and claiming he had no football knowledge. The Gomes appointment as widely criticised and I don’t recall anyone advancing the arguement that it was a good appointment because Nige had said so.
The ‘feel good factor’ is IMHO down to Gomes himself knowing how to say the right things in interviews, saying those things with conviction, seeming to be a decent bloke with a sense of humour and not taking himself too seriously, the decent work done in the transfer window and an upturn in results and at least in part in performances.
