Ideal Expect Leeds to beat us twice, and possibly finish above us. After all they have the better manager now.

They'll do neither. Just my opinion of course......

But if Leeds are in League 1?

Then they obviously won't beat us twice or finish above us..... Obvious really....

Can only see us starting with one of the strongest squads we've ever had in the Championship

Whilst this would be no guarantee of success in such a tight league, Adkin's job would rightly be under threat should we find ourselves languishing in the wrong half of the table.

Before we spend a brass farthing, this squad is stronger than most we've had at this level since 2002, in which time I don't believe we've finished worse than 9th.

Being a poor Premiership squad doesn't make us a poor Championship squad in need of a massive rebuild and neither can I see a stampede for our players from the top flight.

Adkins is no mug and must have agreed the kind of budget McDermott could only dream about before signing on the dotted line. If he wishes to be a worthy successor to the man who got us to a play-off final and promoted as champions in successive seasons whilst being forced to sell the likes of Long and Sigurdsson, he will need to hit the ground running and strengthen whilst challenging for a swift return to the Premiership.

Anything less would expose McDermott's sacking as knee jerking panic from a wet behind the ears owner.

Flirt with the play offs a bit but ultimately finish around 8th or 9th which wouldn't be too bad a season for a relegated team with new manger and unrealistic expectations from their mongbrigade fans
