Ideal playing a right footed player at left wing is a hinderance

Tell that to Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and Swansea (6 of the top 10). Also might want to inform Real Madrid, Barcelona, Dortmund, Bayern, Germany and Spain.

O the title of this thread I think the squad does look stronger, possibly more because we are seeing much better performances from primarily Pog and Danny Guthrie, and some outstanding efforts from Jimmy Kebe. FWIW I do't think we have seen, by far, the end of our January business as I can see us signing at least 2 or three more experienced premier league standard players together with Pearce signing a new contract.

If we can get one more in, that's attack minded I will be happy with the transfer business.

Yes our squad is weaker than everyone else's but I can tell you now, we have more fight in us than any other bottom team.

Yes, they've had Ryan Giggs bombing down the left for the last 20 seasons, what's your point?

SCIAG Liverpool

Liverpool have been suffering from a lack of wing play for the last 10 seasons, and everyone agrees on that - what's your point?

We could go on all night, but your point of view seems well off base.

Giggs hasn't regularly played left wing for United for a good five years, these days he usually plays centrally. These days their main left winger is Young, with Nani and Kagawa occasionally filling in. All three are right footed. To be honest, your view point is severely undermined if you think Giggs is United's left winger.

Liverpool use Raheem Sterling on the left wing lately, he's right footed (and very highly thought of, already capped by England). Before that, they were using Fabio Borini and Suso there, both right footed.

My point is that most of the best teams in the country play with right footed left wingers. The two best teams in Spain use right footed left wingers, and they're arguably the second and third best players in the world. The two strongest sides in Germany use right footed left wingers. The two best national teams in the world use right footed left wingers. Playing a right footer on the left wing doesn't hinder the side, it enhances it. That's why all the best teams in the world do it (except those that don't play with wingers like Juventus and Napoli).

Whether McAnuff is good enough at this level is another question, but a left footed McAnuff would be no better.

The squad would look a lot stronger if Sunzu, Dorrens and Aspas were added. It would also be quite an admission from BMcD that the squad that got promoted was severely lacking in the qualities required to survive at this level.

I don't think he would suit our style.

He really is a loner/ selfish player.....and can be lazy too....will not fit in to "The Reading way"

Urm ...Jimmy?

Are you daring to suggest Jimmy does what he wants??

But the widely held wisdom is that Brian created god, so in this instance he does what he's told
