TheWearing Today performance just tells you that our team is not strong enough. Kebe once again poor, strikers haven't scored since Church v Leeds. We need a new striker eg Rhodes/ Sharp. But we all know we will buy a player on the cheap eg Tubbs!

What will we do if Pearce /Gorkss gets injured? We need a new CB.
Harte's performance today shows he is an has-been, Bertrand anyone?

We lost out on Sigurdsson because we couldn't reach an agreement with Sigurdsson (Wages) and not the German club.

Karacan and Ledge are too defensive, We need a new CAM, I don't rate Howard by the way.

If we don't buy will rip up my season ticket

Rhodes and Sharp are £3m/£4m each. I agree I'd like to see it, but be realistic. Neither risk free anyhow. Rhodes is untested at this level, and Sharp is injury prone, and also had a very dodgy spell with Sheff Utd.

We have Khumalo and Morrisson. Why are we paying their wages if we don't trust them to enter the team? (I personally agree with you a little and am playing Devil's Advocate with this point. I expect to see Khumalo return to Spurs; hopefully we'll bring somebody else in.)

Bertrand? We have Mills, who was finding great form prior to this injury. Fit enough for the bench again today.

Lost out on Siggy because of wages? How about competition from a Premier League club? With a manager who knows him? Use a little common sense, please.

Agreed on another CAM as we're reliant on Kebe and McAnuff for creativity and they're both inconsistent, although McAnuff has improved lately. Hopefully the club are looking into it.

Kebe will be offski anyway.

Fully agree that we need a decent (big, strong and athletic) striker. What's up with Manset? Injured or just his usual less that 100% fitness?

Also agree that we need another central defender. Sonko showed on Saturday that he could have done a great job for us and I don't agree that we did well not to give into his wage (not so big in other clubs' eyes) 'demands'.

And yes, we definitely need a new and creative central midfielder to provide us with a Plan B when our wide men are shut down/not performing.

Legs and Jem are both too defensively minded - there were several instances v Ipswich when the ball was only half cleared by Ipswich but we had no one pushing forward through the middle to capitalise on it. Additionally, our strikers often find themselves totally isolated with no support when the ball is played in. The other problem is that Legs and Jem often play too close to each other.

I'd have thought the thread relevant even if we hadn't played day, what with the transfer window being open, and all that.

It's so obviously a kneejerk thread a blindfolded, tied up and stuck in the basement Stevie Wonder could see it. Why wasn't it started when the Window opened? The window opened nearly 48 hours ago yet this thread was started just after a loss. Maybe we do need to strengthen but right after a game when emotions are high is just asking for the Prozac brigade to pipe up.

Lost the ability to count? We have had far more than one bad day at the office. Saturday was a warning sign of what was to follow today, as well.

Well at least he got his act in gear an awful lot quicker than RFC do when transfer windows open. Expect more of the same old, same old i.e. Kebe highly likely to go but the club will sit around until he's packed his bag and left. They'll then go on about players not being available, clubs wanting too much because they think we've got money etc. etc.

We need a new striker, centre-back and attacking midfielder, the OP says. Don't see what's awful about that. Don't you think we should strengthen?

Really? Do you know that for certain, or is it supposition or guesswork?

Surely we were never a serious possibility of getting him on loan in the real world - it's an absolute no-brainer for him (and his agent) for him to be putting himself in the shop window in the Premier League. What would he gain from coming to a Tier 2 club?

I agree, Cardiff are a decent side and we you can't give them a three goal lead. They took their chances in the first half, we didn't.
However we do need to strengthen, I believe we need a forward, a left back and a centre midfielder with a bit of guile....I'm not sure we'll sign any though.

I am fully convinced that we will not be getting any significant help this window...if anything what we will be getting is money with a player/players going out.

Reading 5th in the table at the New Year = sellers

23rd to 5th in 3 months.

"Not Strong Enough" apparently. Not strong enough for who exactly?

That, and Ipswich was a warning signal, with today proving confirmation.

I doubt many teams are quaking in their boots when they look at our bench. Not (m)any game changers sat there at present are there?

Knee jerk tastic love it! We are 5th and still only 8 pts off 1st which is the same as it was at 3pm. I'll happily take 18 from 24 for the rest of the season thanks! Besides we need the odd crap performance to get us going again sometimes.

But you have to close that gap and we do not have the quality in depth to do that.

It had to do with comfort level. If you were looking to regain your form on a loan spell why not look to going to a team where you know a bunch of the players, have had the most on the pitch success with the current coach and would have a great chance of being in the PL next year if you join them with the team sitting 5th in the table. I am fully convinced this is where he wanted to go. Tho I doubt we will ever get to hear the "real story". We are in desperate need of an attacking midfielder and there was one available who knows the system, the players and the coach.

That's not the mentality that professional footballers have, though - they tend to believe they can succeed where ever they go, so want to always play at the highest level they can.

Someone who has the mentality to take it easy and stay in their comfort zone is unlikely to have made it as a professional, no matter how talented.

Again, he'll be sure that he'll be starting, because he'll believe he's good enough.

And he's much more likely to start every game at Swandea than he would be at many other PL clubs.
