Friday's Legacy
= approx £2,350,000

+ signing on fee's
+ bongani loan fee

= pushing £3,000,000

How do you know that both of those amount to 650k?

do you know what approx means?

signing on fees for all four players in so far (with one pending of course) will equate to around £400k approximately. loans tend to incur a fee as well, so let's estimate £250k and likely undervalue the move.

how do you know it will reach approximately those fee's? based on what. Sounds to me like you are making up figures to bump the sum up.

Platypuss - Long's wages
- Mills wages

5 new ones vs 2 old ones

Even if Mills & Long were a combined £35k per week, this would only average £7k per week each for the ones in.

Or have I missed something ?

So of £11m we've spent £2.35m.

For argument's sake lets say signing-fees and additional wages equal wages no longer paid to those who have left. And that £2.35m includes Le Fondre, what did I miss, is that confirmed?

Do I think that is adequate reinvestment?

No. Not if, as brendy claims, we are seeking promotion.

*Fwiw, Le Fondre is the sort of signing I'd like to see, a very good recent track record, young and lots of room to improve further. Is he quick?

approx = estimate. honestly, do you need me to wipe your bum for you as well?

£400k for four players in signing on fees is a generously low amount and fair approximation.

So like I said...just making up random numbers? Because you have nothing to base those off other than championship manager it sounds.

I don't need you to " wipe my bum" because im not the one making up signing on fee's and loan fee's based on absolutely zilch.

Please continue in your fantasy land.

Another retard, who is moaning? Im delighted with the signing if you see the other thread.

I simply take exception to someone making up numbers based on nothing. But please continue to stick up for someone whose plucked numbers out of thin air if it makes you feel better.

But the only people who've told us we've got £11m are the press and our Chairman has said that's way out.

Forget the figures, the only ones we can genuinely judge on are in the Accounts published every year. Judge on our performance over the season. If we finish top 10 it's a decent season. If we finish top 6 it's a good one. If we finish top 2 it's a great one.

So to summarise:-

STGs: "Why have we only spent £2-3m of £11m received in transfers?"
RTGs: "Because we have a black hole of £5m"
STGs: "Ok, so £11m -£5m = £6m, why have we only spent £2-3m of £6m"
RTGs: "Because the £6m has to cover salaries as well as signing fees"
STGs: "But didn't we just take too of our highest earners off the wage bill, plus release a number of players?"
RTGs: "Ah yes but contracts are for multiple years"
STGs: "Yeah and so were the most of the contracts of the players we have released. And shouldn't we only be talking about annual costs anyway? After all, each year we have to cover the annual black hole..."
RTGs: "Who said we got 11m anyway. Check the accounts."

LOL. 1-0 to the STGs I'd say...

We've still got to leave some money on hand for January in case the season doesn't go to plan or someone gets injured.

It's perfectly simple. We won't spend money just because we have it available, and we won't spend money if we can't find the right player at what we believe to be the right price. It's all about "efficiency of spend" not "size of spend".

We also won't bring to the club players who we consider would be disruptive influences, or who would demand money that would smash the wage ceiling - because the latter would result in everyone getting an increase.

I'm sure we'll spend in January - but we won't spend quickly or for the sake of it, or on players who don't fit or are over-priced.
