Big Foot F*ck knows what we'd be like if one of our players died - would we be ringing up Reading 107 demanding a state funeral?

'Greed, he's only got MS. He should stop trying to draw attention to himself. And anyone making posters, expressing sympathy, solidarity or even passing interest should be taken by train to a guarded camp, lined up, stripped, executed and thrown into a mass grave, their remains carefully arranged to spell "ARMSTRONG IS AN UTTERKANT" in bloody rotting flesh.

royalexile As discussed and in a moment of madness i decided to do a dedication banner for Chris. This will be hung on the second tier above block 133 just behind the goal. As we know Chris was given a mark of respect by SUFC and RFC and handed a presentation from both clubs. I have formulated a loft aim with this banner, and that is for the supporters to give this banner to Chris after the match (in what ever way, shape or form that takes). Dirkers is contacting the club on my behalf to attempt to get this side of the ball rolling. My aim is to get as many of our supporters to sign this banner and put their own well wishes / mark of respect on it for Chris. I will therefore be trawling this around with me so if you see me with it either in Reading on the morning, on the train, tube, or in The Green Man,or at the ground prior to kick off, please feel free sign the banner. I shall be providing the marker pens for this. Hope as meny of you support this as is feasible.

Rex

Good work, royalexile. Nice touch.

Players talk about things like this, players like clubs where they are appreciated

It's not because he had to retire as he had MS. He's getting this because he was fantastic player for us when fit, who easily stepped into the shoes of the best left back we've ever had and won POTS.

Because he plugged away at getting fit despite having MS and still came in and played well out of position this season.

If he'd had to retire through injury, he'd still be getting plaudits and celebrations of his performances, not as much of course, but that's not the point, the MS has focused efforts and raised the profile some, that's all IMO.

Dean wasn't a Reading player when he died. Just like Robin. Wouldn't expect you to know that tho' Kesmondo.

will it be in the green man too? confused. I read "this banner will be available to sign in Sports Bar & Grill Marylebone from 10am onwards. Feel free to come say hello and add your wishes to Chris Armstrong."
