Alan Partridge Big fee for Reading so they must see him as aregular which means it may well be tough for Bikey to get back in the side.

Good. The man's a liability. His performance against Chelsea was laughable.

You kidding? He's our best player.

Bikey >>> Mills >>> Pearce >>>> Bobby Moore

Rubbish, let him go...shockingly casual once again against Chelsea, and also started to think he's the worlds greatest playmaking long ball merchant again when in fact he's not! He also looks too bulky for my liking. I'd let him go.

winchester_royal It just takes one lapse of concentration (and Bikey normally serves up several of them) for the opposition to score

So we normally let in several goals when Bikey plays?

The key attribute of any defender is consistency, and Bikey does not have an ounce of it.
Are you not even a tiny bit suspicious of the post you quoted?

Oh, and lastly  at Arch.

Well, with Arch I should say.

Sun Tzu Even if he did his point is rubbish.

No defender is more consistent than me.

And I wouldn;t get a game for the Girl Guides.

Above consistency you need a bit of ability, some bravery, good decision making, physical presence etc etc.

Neither Ferdinand or Terry are especially consistent but both have other attributes that allow them the odd lapse of concentration

Utter rubbish. Both are the very epitomy of consistency. Plus, I didn't say all you need is consistency, just that it is a vital component of any good defender. It just takes one lapse of concentration (and Bikey normally serves up several of them) for the opposition to score. He can be imperious 80% of the time, but it is the other 20% which always leads to trouble, see Burnely last season for example. Being a defender is not the same as being a striker. When up fron you can afford to be naff 50% of the time, but you certainly can't afford it when you're playing in the back line. That's why Coppell never trusted him, and it's also the reason that BR has signed Mills.

...and it's also why he's still with l'il ol' us. Because a defender of his ability really should be playing at a higher level.

And how do you know that's why Coppell didn't trust him, or why Rodgers signed Mills? Are you in regular contact with both of them? Or are you just trying to pass off your opinion as something which it is not, that being fact

Plus WR, you forgot to mention that going into the start of a season with only 1 available CB is not the most sensible of options to take. Psycho is a liability. Flashes of brilliance coupled with too many examples of complete inappropriate decision making. Ivar will be out for who knows how long. Sadly, he does not appear to be learning that quickly. Perhaps this enfiorced lay off will come as a wake up call. A reliable Psycho would make him, probably, one of the best CBs in the country if not the world.

For all his faults, Bikey is a very good player at this level.

However, if there's £2.5m offer waiting in the wings for someone who gives us more than his fair share of grief this could, indeed, have oiled the wheels of this latest deal.

Simply, we no longer need Spiderman even though I for one would be sad to see him go.

Bikey's inestimable big unit factor does not make up for some his totally brainless decision making. There appears to be something inherent in the African footballer's make up that causes them to spontaneously combust at any given moment (and I am NOT being racist). Discipline is not a strong suit.

I am really pleased about Mills. He was very impressive in the cup game against Villa earlier this year. A footballing centre back and a brilliant signing.

Giving his uncanny likeness to Andrew Flintoff, perhaps we can christen him 'Freddie' Mills?

Ferdinand might not have been once but he's certainly improved that aspect of his game quite considerably.

We were ruined in the second half of last season by injuries. Having three strong CB's (four if Ingi comes back at 80% of what he once was) is a good problem to have. Ease Mills into the side and rotate the three of them to keep them all at the top of their game.
