Snowball
Pitch looked excellent

At the moment, but if it deteriorates like last season how will this effect the new passing game?

But we've been told it won;t.
Last season combined a new pitch, disease and bad weather.

We can't control the weather but the pitch starts in a much stronger state than it did last year.

And if it does then we still have the away games to play nice football in !

In regards to the pitch...

Last season there was generally a football match one weekend, followed by a rugby match the next weekend, leaving the groundsmen only one week to sort the pitch out before the next football match.

This season, there is generally a football match on a saturday, followed by a rugby match on the sunday of the same weekend, leaving a fortnight for the groundsmen to sort the pitch before the next football match.

You get me?

It was presented last season as the dodgy second year of the pitch - apparently the crucial time for a pitch. No idea if that is truth of bullshit but we're over it now, anyway.

Fred Neate has already been sacked, so, no excuses next season then!

Back to Murtz's testimonial:

What a great read the programme was....the best bit being Murtz's appraisal of his team mates (including himself) from the 2005/2006 season.

Was he really the same guy that turned up with that black (Peugeot?) nothing-special convertible donning the number plate M11RTS all of them years ago?

Peugeot or Porsche, hope to see you back again some day

i expect we were sold this pitch with certain quality specifications quoted, which have probably been broken, can we not go back to the suppliers of the pitch, and say"you said the pitch would be fine, it isnt, it has cost us, you must pay etc"
