Southbank Old Boy To me proven means a consistently reliable performer at that level, I think even Doyle has some way to go to say that at Premiership level.
Luckily we're not in the Premiership so he'll have to wait! Doyle is a fantastic striker to have for the Championship and I reckon is Premiership class - he's no Torres, but they're rare even in he premiership

I agree. I was just disputing the post made earlier that said he was proven in the Prem. He can certainly be a half decent Prem forward if he gets another crack at it.

If Doyle can recapture his spark he should have a great season. If he looks as worn out and slow as he was for the second half of last season I think he might struggle a little bit to light up the division like he should be able to.

Lita is a typical streaky scorer who would probably score goals at any level given a long enough go at it, but again he's only had one season in the Championship so personally I just don't think that you can prove yourself in such a short space of time.

Lita's Premiership record is quite frankly hilarious.

He scored in his and our first game.

He then went months without scoring before getting goals amidst a very fine performance against Chelsea (26/12), he went on a creditable run before capping it with a brace against Man City (3/2), a run of 6 goals in 7 games.

He then failed to score again until his and our last Premiership game.
I would argue that that little spell was the only time he got a proper run in the team without injury or Coppell inexplicably placing Shane Long ahead of him.

I think you'd be wrong.

After the Middlesboro' game, Kitson was injured so Lita had a decent run in the side partnering Doyle. This would have been about the time of the infamous "I am officially bored of " post on here. It was hard to disagree with it at the time, let's be frankly honest.

We had both Kitson AND Doyle injured/not fully fit in mid-January, so yes, he had an opportunity then but he was already scoring.

In the period after Man City, he played in (but I don't know the timings) 9 games and didn't score.

He had the great U-21s but got injured in pre-season so his first game back was the 3-0 loss to Bolton but only played 11 times before being loaned out. That said, his form in those games wasn't much to write home about. I remember he had the Swansea cup game to impress and inspite of scoring did not play well at all.
