Royal Lady I'm losing a bit of faith in McD these days - I just don't understand him.

You moaned all of last season as well until you realised we might actually win the league.

Reading much better second half but boy does that defence look shaky. Delivery from set pieces has to improve as that's going to be the source of most of our chances away from home. Dire today.

Lastly, Suarez is a total and utter pcunt. I'm still almost literally shaking with anger after that dive.

Who was it with the dreadful long ball passes that kept on going out of play? McGuthrie? If so, hope it's the last game that he ever plays for us.

On the plus side, Saints, Wigan and Villa all lost too. Don't see Norwich getting past Arsenal.

Much better second half, signs of hope i'd say. Still look significantly lacking in individual quality, mind.

I'd say we're like Watford in the prem a couple of years back, lacking in quality, won't get hammered very much, will scrape some wins and will get a lot of draws and losses.

Am almost certain we're going down.

This was Watford in 2006-7 btw. 20 Watford (R) 38 5 13 20 29 59 −30 28

Has us written all over it.

A bit of ball control would have made all the difference today. Letting a pass bounce 2 feet in front of you before you control it, just isn't going to work. Ledge in particular was a culprit, but then i don't think anyone had a chance of receiving any of Kebe's woeful passes today.

Admittedly I watched it on a stream and not live and yes the second half was an improvement, it needed to be we were a goal down.
Over the whole 90 minutes those type of performances will see us relegated in my opinion. In the premier league you just can't get away with giving the ball away so easily.

I know someone is bound to say it's only 7 games and there is a long way to go, I really hope we aren't still saying that after 12 games.

Liverpool were better than us but didn't walk all over us like I expected, so I take encouragement from that. Particularly in the second half we created some genuine chances.

But we do need to start winning games, and we need to turn those draws against our half of the league into wins.

I don't expect us to stay up right now, but we may just be capable of yoyo'ing if we go down with a stronger squad than we came up with and TSI are serious about us not having to sell anyone.

Remember when Matt Mills got all that stick for those diagonal hoofs? Turns out he was acting under the instructions of McDermott. My money is on the fact that Guthrie was under exactly the same instructions. If McDermott wants Guthrie to adapt his game that much, then I suspect that Guthrie hopes it's the last game he ever plays for us too!

I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you.

What's to do? Tactics and style of play definitely need changing imo. I don't think it matters who is up front at the moment as they never get any blooming service anyway.

Delusion. We were sh*t first half, average second half. Being average won't save us this season. Ineffective down the wings, a lethargic center forward and a passenger in center midfield. Jem could be out for a few weeks with what looks to be ligament damage meaning we're stuck with Leigertwood and Tabb/Guthrie.

Signs of hope?

The second half only looked better because Liverpool were clearly told to sit back a bit and absorb some pressure. Apart from McCleary's 1-on-1, our goal threat was only ever tepid at best.
