This will be a Burns-era display. We'll lose 1-0 and the players will be booed off (not by me as I will leave 5 mins early in disgust).

If the level of pessimism evident on this board is reflected in the mood of the team and the crowd, it'll be a Bullivant- or Quinn-era defeat.

If the team wakes up and the fans implausibly deliver some "back the team GUBBINS", we'll win as we surely know we can. Wigan are a team waiting for their own reality check.

Nothing to do with the fans. If the players turn up we have a chance, if not, we don't.

1-1

I don't think he's over his knee injury

Anyway, 6-0 to Reading, Doyler hattrick, Fae, Bikey and Bobinho

If we all shout really loud and pretend that the team isn't playing poorly and doesn't look marginally less balanced than Lola Ferrari, then a right winger will magically appear.

To be fair, we should win this. The new signings are one more game in, Coppell's had a few weeks to analyse and identify what's not quite right about the performances, Kitson's got his first goal.

It'll be tight

I don't think it will be all that pleasant an experience to watch.

But we can win this one.

Beg to differ. A positive crowd can lift a team. Or is our team's famed morale so fragile?

Mrs b_r is coming to this one, and we never, ever lose when she comes to a match. It's the main reason I married her.

I'm hoping for a 2-1 win myself. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet at the moment (but would love to be proved wrong), think we are capable of beating Wigan though.
