AthleticoSpizz Bit of a shambloles season for the blues, however, they were 3rd in what was the premier division at the time of that EP game.

And ended up getting relegated after winning about one game after Christmas. Losing on aggregate to Boro in the last play off to involve teams from each division competing to stay up or go up. Full on riot afterwards too around fulham with over 200 arrests. I was at that game too!

We gave up to getting on the tube at Fulham and ended up walking to Hammersmith

leon Probably had an AD "stunner" on each arm

great free kick and it was good to be reminded of what Chelsea used to be like before all that money robbed from the Russian people made them into the scum they are now

I didn't see you complain when AZ took over Reading.......with the promise of 'big' signings....then he left you in the lurch.....

Mr Optimist I was there for both legs too. Remember at the Bridge we were 3-0 down at half time to a "juke box" Durie hattrick so their manager at the time, either john Hollins or Bobby Campbell took him off at half time to rest him for the next league match.

Colin donkey Gordon scores twice in the second half to see us through and Steve Francis plays a blinder to keep them out. About two thousand of us in one pen of the old away end going mental in the pissing rain, happy days!

And it was freezing cold as well!

Great night :-)

Nearly as good as the night we beat Reading 4-2 in the Prem. Some idiot in the away end was flicking the V's very aggressively when Reading took the lead. Needless to say he got egg on his face in the end.

Two good games that season for laughing at supporters. The home game when Chelsea fans were singing "we are the champions of Europe" for at least 20 minutes straight whilst they were two up and then went dead silent when we got it back to 2-2.

Fair play to Chelsea, they've now won the league as many times as Sheffield Wednesday and been Champions of Europe nearly as many times as Nottingham Forest

Also created history early on in that season by becoming the first CL title holder to crash out of the tournament in the group stage.

But the first and only English side to win all three major European Trophies.

Something that will never be done again. 8)
