I'm sure I could probably find the answer to this but does any club have a worse play-off record than us?
By my count it's
5 attempts, 2 semi final defeats (Wolves & Burnley), 3 final defeats (Bolton, Walsall, Swansea)

I remember reading an article on BBC a year or so back saying some club was really unlucky at play-offs and they had only lost 3-4 times. Someone must have choked more than us surely ........

Forest have been in the playoffs more than us and never even got to the final IIRC

I think they said during this years playoffs that it was the eighth time Preston had tried and failed

So those two at least

I'd expect Cardiff are worse than us too.

Us, along with Bristol City and Sheffield United, are the only teams to have lost 3 play off finals at 3 different venues.

kwik-silva I remember watching Tabb forced back down the tunnel and wondering if he'd been sent off. If only that Karacan shot had gone in...

I think we would of done it. That would have sucked the life out of any club

Cardiff have at least won one, in 02/03 v QPR at the Millenium Stadium.

I was at Swansea University at the time. I had to get the train back to Swansea with all the Swansea fans and I had an exam the next morning. Utterly shit.

Looking back on it though, what a great game which ultimately sums up why people attend football matches. Such a dramatic roller coaster of emotions all in 90 minutes.

Decent enough game, in-part.

Was underwhelmed with the "new" Wembley experience tho'

The Green Man was a smashing pub before and after the match, and the bar lady who looked like Zoe from Eastenders was very fit.

Can still see the moment where it's beaten the keeper before it hits the post. I still think if that goes in we win the game.

Dont remember much from half time onwards. Met up with a load of Reading fans in a bar not far from Waterloo after the game. Then went for a curry.

Pepe the Horseman I had a splendid day. The Green Man was gr8, both pre and post game.

Echo that about the Green Man, pre-match anyway, didn't go post-match. I'll also add to that the atmosphere for those 15 mins after half-time as well.

The game was shit though. Funnily enough I was talking to a mate about it at Wembley on Friday before the England game without realising it was 3 years ago to the day. It's a game I've thought a lot about in the last 12-18 months..
