"Sickening abuse" sounds like the kind of thing that happens at real football grounds, with real history, full of real football fans who pose a quite credible threat of random violence, not what happens at little Reading, with its homosexuals, plastics, keyboard warriors, women and children. I think Kes might have been facing his own goal.

There were at least 20 of the hardcore in Y25 that slammed their seats down when Blackman missed on Wednesday.

Black and Blue is, although I'll admit it's link to Reading is making me biased, is one of the top 3 sports books I have ever read. Parts of it are both inspiring and horrifying in equal measure.

I remember him signing, it was such a coup at the time for us to get him. What a shame it never worked out.
