I think we will get another point between now and the end of the season.

More than one, actually.

Our last 7 games include several against sides likely to not have that much to play for by the time we meet them (Fulham, Man City, West Ham, possibly even Norwich). Differences in motivation can create big surprises in games like that at the end of the season.

Two of the other three are Soton and QPR at home, which can be classed as winnable if we can tighten up our defence.

Key thing is momentum. We would need to beat Soton, get some confidence.... go from there.

Of course it's very unlikely, but not yet impossible.

I just hope we can give it a decent shot, and finish strongly. I think that would make a big difference to the atmosphere and spirit at the start of next season, even if we do end up going down.

It's as likely as us winning 4/5/6/7.

The reality will probably be somewhere between...

Don't think it's totally impossible. Beat Southampton then nick a draw off Bodgers lot and confidence does a hell of a lot. The reality is though we'll probably get dicked by Saints, media hype it up as Adkins vs old club but will probably have a anti-climax.

Beat Saints & QPR at least and I will be a happy man (also if we stay up of course).

If we beat QPR just to have the consolation of taking them down with us, it will be something to cling on to.

Saints is as big as it gets.

To have a SLIGHT chance, we have to beat them.

IF we beat them, the odds improve. Avoid defeat v Liverpool and they improve again.

Right now I'd want 100-1, beat Saints it'd be 50-1, draw with Liverpool 33-1

Not gonna happen, but why talk about seven games when losing the first kills us?

So we can wallow in self pity for the remaining 6 and keep the "I told you so" bridage satisfied?

Tokyo Sex Whale "Oooh lets BELIEVE in the team and spur them on by transmitting positive energy from 7th sun of Mars crossing in front of Venus in order to achieve survival - lets use our miiiinds".

Pathetic. We're relegated.

If we don't go down I'll streak from the east stand naked with my finger up my ass across the pitch attempting to climb the west stand and windmill my tiny penis in front of Antons mrs.

Well you're a pathetic fan if you give up on your team like that while it might seem realistically unlikely we will stay up, the fans should be getting behind the team they love no matter what and showing a bit of belief in the players. The attitude you show there is not one of someone who supports their team through thick and thin. So I'd say you're attitude as a fan towards the team is pretty pathetic IMHO.

I'll join you if we beat saints. We should be able to get points from any of our remaining games. We're also quite capable of getting no more than a couple.

Nothing to do with being pathetic.

Despite the fact that I know we are down barring a world-record level change of fortune,
I'll be there Saturday shouting my head off and hoping for the win, not miraculous, but surely
against the odds (Southampton are favourites for the win)

Speaking before the game, five wins from 7 (or, if REALLY lucky 4 wins and a draw) would be a miracle
BUT, if we win against Saints (unlikely, very unlikely) then there could be a big shift in the odds.

First we will have shown we can beat a decent side, lifted player morale, lifted the fans, and THEN
anything COULD happen. However, almost certainly we would be required to beat Liverpool in the
second game of the seven, certainly we would need at least a draw.

But.of course, WD those two, be on 27 points with five games to go, then we'll be thinking, "beat QPR and one other, and, and...."

We are 9/4 to win this, probably 2-1 to avoid defeat v Liverpool. That's 8-1 just to get through to "5-games left" and have a long-shot shout

It COULD happen, but it's very, very unlikely.

It seems almost impossible we'll be in the PL next season, but Feck it, let's try to enjoy it while we're still here. Can the remaining handful of games really be as bad as the last couple of months? Surely not.

Team I love? LOL, I love this team as much as Iove a trip to the dentist. I have a small fondness for the club itself, but this team? Absolute dogsh*t sadly. And don't for one moment think that they love you Leigertwood-jeering, Guthrie-applauding spackers in return either. They have more contempt for you than I have, and I have all the contempt in the world for you all.

And belief in the players? Further LOL. That ship has long since sailed, been scuttled and resurrected in a dry dock in Portsmouth. We are the Mary Rose of the Premier League.

Bollox we are! People enjoy seeing the Mary Rose, and happily pay money to do so.

Of course they can't.

I predict we will lose a maximum of 7 games, and that's better than losing 18
