I don't think this is the thread to be slagging him off. Congrats Brian for a completely unexpected play off final & league title.

Born 'n Bred Royal Go and support Man Utd if you want to support a team that wins things.

From what he's had to work with he's done an incredible job and has over-achieved. The only way he can bring more success is if he is backed with hard cash in the transfer window. It's a Championship side in the Premiership...

Just such a shame all the hard work and hard earned results we had to get us here has been totally wasted by signings that either never play or add little to a championship squad and no ability to change or vary the style of play from the predictability of last season

Maguire A level of success none of us anticipated and none of us had any right to expect.

Life is full of ups and downs - seems a shame to dispense with the guy the moment things aren't going our way.

Cheers Bri.

Yep.

Three years ago we were enjoying a proper skillz day out at Ashton G8 watching Simon Church bundle in a last minute equaliser (before being promptly sent off). Brian's remit was to prevent a relegation and steady the ship. Absolutely no way did I ever contemplate that he'd have us in the Premier League.

Cheers. Hic.

Ah! Nice to see a thread with a positive spin!

Congratulations Brian. As posters above have already said...In Brian we trust.
These are difficult times but that's part of being a Reading fan. We are not going to set the division alight and win a sackful of trophies,
if you want that, you know where to go. Me, I'll keep supporting Reading and when the good times come again, and they will, I'll enjoy them all the more.

Yes congrats! Lets all take a moment to consider that before Brian we were heading to the 3rd tier again, he was a massive part of a play off final, two FA cup quarters and a championship winning season.

There will always be small, success hating people who will try and pull you down when they have a chance but in the greater scheme of things they are just a tiny amount of wasted bandwidth or a mutter behind you in a stand.

Agree with the congrats, we have had more success since you took over than we had any right to expect given where we were.

Still the best man for the job as far as I'm concerned. Yes, I think we'll go down this season but I also think we can bounce straight back if we keep Brian and the core of the current squad. All proven quality at Championship level and unfairly slated for not being proven quality at Prem level.

Can't disagree with all of this but if I had wasted what little transfer budget my had and then set out to alienate the players I had brought in by continually selecting them behind players who are tbf totally out of their depth - with the probable outcome that they will need to be sold on / replaced at a loss then I would not be expecting to keep my job. So when every serious football commentator has recognised that your tactics are flawed but you haven't should you still be in your job.
If Brian wants to prove how loyal/stubborn/? he is please let him do it at some other clubs expense.
This will take us many years to get over the embarrassment and ridicule.

I

I just can't believe that any manager could only have achieved 9 pts at this stage. Surely, there's got to be managers out there that can do better.
