Big Ern Favourite was the 3-1 win against Liverpool when Carragher took out one of our players (think is was Shunt) about a metre outside the box, but the penalty was given.

Gunnarsson wasn't it?

More like a yard.

Still one of the best nights at the Madejski.

I still remember Hansen on MOTD showing that the contact was on the line, which therefore made the decision correct.

Harte's at West Ham is very memorable for me this season. To to go 3-1 up at that time in the game meant we had a great chance of going up automatically, the rest is history!!

I'd throw in Martin Williams away to Gillingham circa 2000, we were in the relegation zone of Div 1and everything was going wrong (early Pardew days), they scored on 90+2 to go 2-1 up and we got a penalty in 90+3 to equalise

arthurfondrelli Also enjoyed a Hahnemann save vs Watford, 02/03 season I think

Came in to post this one. The obvious ones deservedly get precedence (Murty v QPR, Harte v West Ham, Federici v Brighton) but this was an outstanding save. I think it was Neil Cox who took the penalty, and absolutely leathered it into the corner, but Hahnemann launched himself and pushed it away. And IIRC we won the game 1-0, which made it all the more pivotal.

Another couple for worst - Robbie Keane at White Hart Lane for Spurs to win 1-0 after Halford had decided to ditch football for basketball and Nicky Shorey missing at Fratton Park in THAT game against Portsmouth. 3-2 down at the time with 20 minutes to go, instead of equalising we miss and go on to ship seven.

Yeah it was a super save although Hahnemann was generally gash at penalties

Least favourite of ours - Archie.

Least favourite against - Keane's miss at WHL, followed in and scored by an encroaching Defoe who was virtually level with Keane when he struck it.

Favourites - Murts, Gilksey & The Sig at Anfield - all three led to the biggest outpourings of unfettered and feverish celebration imaginable.

Most LOLable pen ever - Roberts against Bristol City.

Fave pen: Morley heading in a penalty (ok, penalty rebound then) vs Huddersfield, 96/97.

Least fave: Mark Stein

In terms of RFC penalty takers in my memory: Morley > Caskey <> Quinn > anyone else.

That has reminded me of the following season, that bloody 6-4 game. They got the pen for 5-4 which was saved and the rebound was scored by (Defoe?) who had encroached several miles inside the box :x

Spurs are high up on the list of teams I hope that we (somehow) absolutely murk next season.

One i hated was when we lost 6-4 at WHL and i think Hahnemann saved Keane's pen but Defoe put home the rebound even though he was 10+yds in the area before Keane touched the ball.

Definately remember that Morley rebound with affection, wasn't it Steve Francis in goal for Huddersfield? My other favourite was Morley's hatrick against Bolton for some much awaited revenge, Quinn's first against Brighton and Doyle v Man Utd. Worst... Shoreys at Pompey always sticks to mind

Isaac Hunt Yep. Add Gilkesy v Coventry in and that's it for me.

+1.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVqPK7Lyf-w. Gilkesy's pen starts at 8:15, but I could watch the whole thing over and over. Unforgettable.

Jimmy Quinn only missed one penalty for us I think, his penalties stayed hit. Ironically, the one he missed was the most "stayed hit" out of all of them.

Our penalties have been absolutely shocking this year.

Best:
Ian Harte vs West Ham (so much pressure and I don't like West Ham)
Kevin Doyle vs Man Utd (dared to dream)

Worst:
Stuart Lovell...the miss of the rebound was arguably worse.
