Wilder?
Howe?
Ainsworth?

Heard of all of these so you know that if Pauno does go then they won't be replacing him.

Mr Dai simply goes on here and sorts in points won order:

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trainer ... /statistik

(Though he'd probably be better looking here: https://blog.marathonbet.co.uk/football ... t-of-work/ )

There are quite a few out-of-work managers out there to choose from. A few more may come available at the end of the season or after the Euros.

Since McDermott virtually every manager has been considered a failure except Stam's first season and maybe Steve Clarke for his FA cup guidance. Unless we're happy being a bottom half championship side.

Need some perspective re the end of the season results.

Yes Brum was awful but 2 of the 3 defeats in this run were against the top 2 away who were both bang in form, and today we had our first 3 centre halves out.

Draws against Cardiff and Swansea in isolation aren't particularly bad results, neither was Barnsley, the manager can't do anything about the Joao miss.

From what I can remember we were far worse at the end of last season, the players seemed to completely down tools for the last few games.

In the second half today we didn’t even open the shed door to get the tools out.

Jackson Corner Take those games away and we’d be a bottom six

Can we not take away eight games we lost instead?

Snowflake Royal That would be good news after Stranded's analysis of the next season for teams who finish 7th recently. EdIt: finishing 8th, not Pauno getting sacked. Which would be an even bigger abomination than Bowen going and the absolute death of the soul of the club.

So you think 1 win in 11 if we don't beat Huddersfield is acceptable? It's not even where we've finished. It's our appalling form in the last 2 month's.

Coppell went 11 games without a single win after Boxing Day in 2004/05. Should we have sacked him?

Two seasons ago we were 20th. Last season we were 14th. This season, Paunovic's first with us and in the Championship, we are 7th / 8th.

This is the second season we've had, since we started sacking managers at the drop of a hat 7 years ago, where we've finished in the top half. We are finally making some progress both financially and with some stability (Stam is the only manager we've had in that time other than Paunovic to complete a full season).

It is madness to change manager every 9 months. It makes me sick, and it's everything I hate about football.

I agree. Tbh, I wished we had hired a more 'conventional' manager in the first place - but he's done more than enough to earn another full season.

Pauno deserves a full pre-season at the very least, but he really needs the fixture god's on his side as i fear a tough start and he'll be quickly replaced.
However, with these owner's in place he may even get the boot after next week. If that is the case and i really hope it isn't, then it really has to be time we start taking Gareth Ainsworth seriously....the job he has done at Wycombe this season has been amazing!!
They started like they were thrown in the deep end, but stuck to their guns and put in a courageous effort the second half of the season. If the season had six more games in it i truely believe they would have pulled off the great escape!
Someone sooner or later will give him a shout.

Time for Pauno to go and the return of the Prodigal Pards.

Feels like he's just a victim of having too much early success (same as McDermott #1). If we'd been a bit more consistent and battled to 7th I don't think anyone would be saying it wasn't good enough, regardless of how we were playing.

And in the second half against Swansea last season at home Bowens team couldn't even find the shed.
Fact is horrible mistakes by players and a worldie free kick against us by a side that is a Premier League team is hardly somthing to moan about the manager.

Pauno out followed by comments of get Eddie Howe or Chris Wilder pretty much sums up the unrealistic expectations some fans have.

For me Pauno’s job is to reduce the wage bill, develop the academy players into first team quality (Sell for a Profit) and keep us safely in the top half of the championship.

A Promotion challenge would be great but we don’t have the finances to buy ready made quality so we need to give the manager and coaches time to build the squad. So every now and then mistakes may happen (Like Tom Holmes today) but it’s part of the process.

I think Bowen & Pauno have got us looking up rather than down but still lots of work to be done, while managing a very tricky financial situation. There is no quick fix while FFP is still about.

Wasn't the mistakes today. It was the quality of our play when in possession. Particularly the attacking third. Looked like a bunch of strangers who've never been on a pitch together. Bereft of a plan.

1 win in 11 tells the story. There is no club in the country that wouldn’t have fans turning on the manager and a chairman getting ready to print the P45 off. All this talk of give him a pre season? How’s that going to help? He’s been with the squad long enough now to have his impact on things. People say give him a transfer market? In case you hadn’t realised we won’t be bringing anyone in. How or what is going to do better over the next few months that he hasn’t managed to over the last? The guy is history, he’ll be gone during the close season. We move on

Don't be so disingenuous. Those first few games are relevant because of 'new manager bounce'/honeymoon period.

morganb Just realised we could finish 8th after today's heavy defeat. Wonder how Mr Dai will view that considering we were top 6 for so long.

I Think it was that last block of games after lockdown that did for Bowen especially the home games. These last 11 games With the exception of the win Over useless Derby we have been really poor.
