A disasterous day for Reading. Defensively a shambles, won only a point which does us no good at all, and we're now guaranteed to lose McCarthy in the summer.

my god mccarthy was brilliant! carrico was awesome as well and must start next weeks. mcanuff was pissing me off at the end trying to get a penalty instead of putting in a good cross. overall great performance by the whole team.

Lot lot better

Just wish Adkins had come sooner, maybe he would have been able to stop us from the drop

Wow. Just Wow. McCarthy was unbelievably good. Best goalkeeping performance I've seen in years, if not the best ever. Carrico, when fit, is an utter revelation. Didn't get everythign right by any means, but he mostly put right his mistakes, passed well, tackled well, looked athletic and made our midfield look the best it has all season. McAnuff was good but couldn't quite produce the goods. Guthrie seemed a different player once Carrico came on.

And a clean sheet. Amazeballs.

The only player we need to make sure stays out of that lot is Mccarthy. I wouldnt be too bothered whoever else moved on.

Special mention for Carrico today - thought he was superb when he came on - tackling, passing, getting forward

The man will boss the Championship next season

agreed. the whole of the midfield looked better when he came on. we were passing pretty well up to that point but when he came on it was noticeably better. at one point in the second half we had more possession than liverpool overall

Yeah, we went from looking like a team going through the motions who knew they were down and would lose first half, to a team short on form but with a couple of bits of quality and a real desire and belief they could actually get playing. Liverpool should have beaten us and they've really only got themselves to blame they didn't.

If we can start well in the next match, maybe nick a lead, we have a chance of finishing the season with a bit of pride.
