Don't know if this was posted earlier, but two fingers to you sven

Sven-Goran Eriksson has said his Leicester City side are determined to show how far they have come since their last meeting with Reading.

City face the Royals, who were beaten in the play-off final at Wembley in May, at the King Power Stadium tomorrow looking to build on their opening-day victory against Coventry City and mount their own promotion challenge.

Eriksson said City's 3-1 defeat at the Madejski Stadium in April ended their play-off challenge, but he warned the Royals that they will be facing a very different City side when they go head to head tomorrow. "Although we only had an outside chance of reaching the play-offs when we faced Reading at the Madejski Stadium last season, defeat there effectively ended our hopes," said Eriksson in his notes in tomorrow's 84-page match-day magazine. "That day hurt us all and we are determined to show just how much we have improved over the past months. "Just two weeks ago we faced the mighty Real Madrid, and now we face Reading.

"To us all, this is a lot more important and will be just as difficult as there are three league points at stake."

As well as Eriksson's regular column, there is also an interview with owner and chairman Vichai Raksriaksorn, who discusses his hopes and plans for City this season and in the years to come.

In addition, new City skipper Matt Mills presents his first captain's notes of the campaign ahead of a quick re-union with former employers Reading.

Mills's fellow defender Sean St Ledger, who starred for the Republic of Ireland this week, goes Under the Spotlight.

Franchise FC You won't see any of the STG's on here tonight.

Just wait till we lose one, though

Spot on. Win we win you find out who the real supporters are.......................

A simply brilliant result and given Millwall's win today, last weeks point doesn't look quite so shabby.

I think it's time to reacquaint my Upper West seat with my fat backside :P

howser Don't know what it is that McD has got but he continually loses his better players yet still manages to get great results, having lost Mills, Kish and Long, 3 strong players from the second half of last season he shuffles his pack, and picks up a result like this..........brilliant stuff !! Mr Mad you can sell away the team but thank heavens you cant sell the spirit that the manager gets into these players, must be worth a few bob that.

A very good man manager I guess? When we lose McDermott we'll have problems?

Not necessarily: we've got a boot room system. Did Liverpool have problems after Shankly left? No--Bob Paisley got stuck in. And then Fagan. We've probably got a Fagan inconspicuously wandering around Hogwood at the moment. Gibbs? Dolan? The groundsman? Who knows?

rhroyal I'd suggest that there hasn't been a better manager than McD at this level since his appointment in 2010. Possibly Warnock, but McD does it whilst being not being a oxf*rd.

The Norwich manager is pretty awesome--another Martin O'Neill, I think.

Personally I'd say you find out who the real supporters are when things are tough and they stick through those times with their continued support....

Great results today. Still too early to have any idea how things will pan out for the rest of the season though, and that remains the case for another half a dozen games, if not more.

Hopefully this is the sign of things to come and not just players getting a big result in a big game for the club.

It was pretty easy for McD to motivate his team for today's game though. They all played a blinder and will now doubtless be texting Mills telling him what a bad move he's made!

What surprised me was not just the result but the way we pretty well out played them for the majority of the game.

Imagine what he could do with a board that actually supported him and gave him resources most other managers have, frightening.

As mentioned elsewhere earlier in the week a good time to play Leicester and 7/2 was good value with our side being quite settled and theirs a mixture of players who hardly know each other.
As the season progresses Leicester may well come to the fore but for now Reading are to be congratulated for a terrific result and by all accounts the fact that we kept two of our most important players,Jobi and Kebe, was a big contributory factor today.
Early days but it makes up for the 2 lost points v Millwall.
I gather that, apart from Wembley, that is now 9 on the trot undefeated away from home and our ability to hit teams on the break certainly reaps rewards.
Bring on Pompey-we are long overdue a win there.

Is Sven a bad manager ? Or just under pressure to deliver.

Reading in recent years have a formala that works. In that no player is bigger than the club.

its a gøod result regardleess, and one in the eye for the ambition merchants who make no allowances for teams gelling or improving when writing us off and lauding leicesters mad approach.

And if Leicester finish above Reading this season? Were Plymouth a better team than Reading in 2005?

And the Leicester fans want more signings.

May well do sandman. Bet it's not far if they do though.

Happy with that. Thought it would only be decided one one goal. Leicester supporters staying after the game we are where they need to be - gelled as a team. We fought for it and it was good to see Schmeichel bollocking his back four.
Any news on Manset - it looked fairly innocuous from where i was. The support was in great voice when we got going but naturally fairly tentative at the start.
We edged the first half and seemed to play from fun in the second.
